Season 1
- Nick researching if he could be gay. He's immediately hit by pages on homophobic attacks, workplace discrimination and conversion therapy...and then takes a quiz that tells him, yes he's probably queer. His silent tears are completely devastating, as is the fact that his feelings for Charlie have immediately been turned into something painful and terrifying.
- Elle's loneliness when she first starts Higgs and fear of making new friends.
- Nick and Charlie's conversation after their first kiss. Charlie is almost in tears trying to apologise for the kiss, begging Nick to still be friends and not be disgusted by him. Meanwhile, Nick has had his whole world turned upside down, feels horrible for running away note and ends up sobbing in Charlie's arms over how lost he is.
- Every time Charlie tells people not to worry about him being bullied because he's "used to it."
- Nick's reaction when Charlie says "He's not even my type" to protect Nick from Harry.
- Ben abusing Charlie even after they've broken up."You were there like some tragic loser with barely any friends, who ate lunch alone and let bullies walk over you. I never liked you. I'm not even gay. I just felt really sorry for you."
- Charlie trying to break up with Nick because he believes he's ruining his life and would be better off without him.
- Charlie admitting to Tori that he's started to believe Ben's abuse and that everyone would be better off without him. All she can do is hold him while he sobs.Charlie: "And I just feel like maybe I do just ruin people's lives. And it would be better if I didn't exist."Tori: "You're not ruining my life."
