Tear Jerker / Glitter

• Dice's death. Even more so when it happens while he was on his way to watch Billie perform at Madison Square Garden.
  • Billie's devastated reaction.
  • Billie urging her audience at Madison Square Garden to never take love for granted, then proceeding to sing "Never Too Far", dedicating it to Dice.
  • The fact that Dice and Billie parted on hostile terms with each other. It looks like Dice and Billie will make up at the concert, but then Dice is shot dead by Timothy.
• Lillian having to give up Billie into foster care due to her alcoholism, which caused her to accidently set their apartment complex on fire.
• Billie stumbling across a woman singing "Lillie's Blues", believing the woman to be her long-lost mother. Sadly, she just turns out to be another homeless woman.
  • This encounter motivates Billie to look for her mother, and tries asking around in missing persons, only for them to tell her that they've lost track of Lillian almost ten years ago, leaving Billie right back to where she started. Thankfully, Dice was able to produce Lillian's whereabouts and pass them off to Billie shortly before his death.
• The ending is this mixed with Heartwarming. Star-famous Billie travelling the whole night immediately after her show to reunite with her mother. Lillian is seen standing on the porch of her little home, watching Billie's limousine pull in. The two stare at each other for a long time, eventually breaking down in tears and tightly embracing each other. Billie/Mariah's sweet and high-pitched "Never Too Far" plays in the background. Cut to end credits.
• Most of Billie's songs fall under this, but special mention goes to "Reflections (Care Enough)", which she writes to express her anguish over her mother "abandoning" her, with one line eerily having Billie ask why her mother didn't at least have the decency abort her!
