He dies in the Arena, leaving her traumatized — then her other siblings are all Reaped and die, her parents cannot take it and let themselves perish in a workplace accident, and then her tribute's gruesome demise in the First Quarter Quell breaks her so much that she's Driven to Suicide. And all the while, the Capitol refuses to understand why she won't stop crying and ridicules her for being a bad Victor, even after her death.
Honorius desperately trying to care for her, the first tribute he managed to bring home alive, only to fail in spite of his best efforts. He keeps a memorial for her at public events for years afterwards.
