  • "Finale (Can't Wait To See What You Next)" is a Series Fauxnale about the brothers considering ending their music careers on a high note, surprised and unfortunately frightened by the sudden burst of success with their last album and wondering if they could ever top it. In particular, Jack sings that at the very least, even if he and his brothers are just a passing fad that will ultimately be forgotten, he hopes he had made many people happy.
  • "My Play" is a song about a child who just wants their divorced parents to be together and be happy, which definitely hits home for some people. The last line, in particular ("But maybe you'll forget it all while you're watchin' my play"), sounds like the singer is putting the burden of their parent's divorce on themself.
  • "Karma", which is all about Jack venting to his therapist about how he never feels fulfilled trying to be a good person and wonders if the supposed rewards will ever come. The idea that your good deeds don't necessarily make you feel better and bad thoughts still linger can hit home for a lot of people.
  • "God is Really Real" is a song dedicated to the brothers' father, Gary, who was suffering a long-term illness at the time. The song was originally intended to be released alongside The Maybe Man, but after seeing the immense support they received from their fans, AJR decided to release "God is Really Real". The song sees them reflect on how their "dad can't get out of bed" and how the world is constantly changing.
"I love you" sounds all corny, so I wrote this song instead
I'll sing it for you, Dad, when you get out of bed
I'll sing for you when you're out of bed
