  • One of the other names previously used by the All-Seeing Author includes BROB.

  • Narration describes the Tempest-Tempest Fruit as looking like the Apple logo after Evan took a bite out of it.
  • At the end of the first chapter, Evan stands on water, perhaps referencing Jesus.

Chapter 2:

Chapter 3:

  • The chapter title is "I Have a Dream," a reference to the famous speech by Martin Luther King Jr.

    • The other Straw Hats apparently even know about Hulk Hogan, too, Word of God rectifying this as being a universal constant.

Chapter 4:

  • Evan forms water into a pistol that he can then fire, in reference to the 4Kidz dub of One Piece editing all the guns into pistols. The chapter title is even "Definitely Not a 4kidz Sell-Out".
  • Evan references Abbott and Costello when Luffy's confusion turns a conversation on a route that could potentially lead to one such comedy routine.
  • Marine Captain Nezumi is called a rat-bastard in the narration, a reference to both his appearances and Soundbite's favorite insult.
  • The mooks of Marine Captain Nezumi's ranks have apparently attended Stormtrooper Shooting 101, at least according to Evan.
  • A quote from Shanks is referenced by Evan while he fights Nezumi.

Chapter 5:

  • This Will Be the Day, the first OP of RWBY, is playing in Evan's head as he and Evan wait for Nami to make her decision.
  • It is stated that Evan is apparently a fan of Minecraft.
  • Fonti uses an attack with a name similar to one of Jinbei's.
  • Two giant and watery hands that Evan creates using his Tempest-Tempest Fruit are called Master Hand and Crazy Hand.
    • As if that wasn't obvious enough, the attack he uses with them is called Super Hand Brothers Smash.

Chapter 6:

  • Evan states that after his fight with Fonti, every step hurt like the 2016 American Presidential election.
  • Evan references Gru's "Lightbulb!" upon getting an idea to escape Arlong.
  • The move he uses to free Luffy from the cement block is called Crazy Hand Ground Pound, a reference to Super Smash Bros. as well as Super Mario Bros., where the Ground Pound is a common technique utilized by Mario.
  • As Evan walks to the three-day party, he's whistling Some Nights by the band "fun.".
  • One of the events in the party is a "strangely Professor Layton style puzzle-solving mystery."

  • Evan notes that it would be horrible if the writing in this world was a different written language like in Re:Zero.
  • The All-Seeing Author references President Trump's quote about settling for a fence in some places.
  • The ASA also mentions a spacially illogical police box.

Chapter 7:

  • Evan references Edgar Allan Poe:
Evan: I'm fine. (thinking) Quoth the male nevermore.
