    Rantaro/Prairie
  • Others point out her attraction to him often as much as she tries to deny it, Kokichi in particular likes to tease her about it (though he also likes to tease Prairie about her crush on him).
  • Prairie ends up admitting to herself and several others on multiple occasions that she was smitten with him, much to her irritation.
  • The two act like a married couple that several other students feel troubled over the big fight between Prairie and Rantaro. It doesn’t help that they also get called out after reuniting before the first class trial.
Kokichi: Oh, look at that. Our residential neighborly lovebirds are back together, how sweet!
  • What does Rantaro do the moment he learned that Prairie was back in the Killing Game after almost 3 days of being missing? He spends his entire time in the casino to earn enough coins to get a Love Hotel Key so he can see her.
    • He also asked Shuichi, the only other person with a Love Key, to deliver a care package to Prairie to which she accepts gratefully.
  • The break between the first trial has Rantaro give Prairie his necklace so that she doesn’t feel too anxious without him. Kokichi even teases her about it, saying that it’s like a “promise-necklace thing” so that “she can save herself for him”, much to Prairie’s ire.
  • The third interlude puts us in the perspective of Rantaro during his last moments with Ryoma. During their extended conversation about Prairie, Ryoma brings up the subject of Prairie’s obvious crush on Rantaro, to which the latter rejects tight there and there saying that his feelings for her are purely platonic because he’s not interested in romance. This could be viewed as a deal breaker for the typical reader, if the entire chapter didn’t talk about how Prairie was the only person that Rantaro depended on in order to go on in the killing game.
  • The first person Prairie thinks about when she reads about the ‘repopulating human-kind part’ in Gopher Project’s document is Rantaro, of all people.
    Kokichi/Prairie
  • There are various moments where Kokichi pesters and flirts with Prairie, much to the latter’s detriment. But Chapter 2.2 takes the spotlight when it comes to Prairie initiating any sort of recuperation [just to trick him] that Kokichi won’t hesitate to bring up in future chapters.
  • Chapter 1.10 has Kokichi tucking a flower in Prairie’s hair before the students meet up, Rantaro even points out that she should think about it to cool down from her anger against the purple gremlin.
    • He sprinkles a bunch of white little flowers while Prairie was upset due to Kaede’s attempted murder, although she’s too distraught to fully appreciate it.
    • Everyone gets to see his “advances” first hand during the trial when Kokichi slips another flower over her right ear during the first trial, much to the embarrassment to Prairie
  • Kokichi lends Prairie his top after Prairie’s first attempt in the Death Road of Despair. This causes multiple misunderstandings from the other students when they get back to the dining room to talk about the newest motive.
  • Although the care package he made might be considered trolling, it’s kind of sweet of Kokichi to make it in the first place even if he had to lie about who made it. The entire chapter featuring his visit is surrounded by hilarity and heartwarming moments too.
    • He’s seen her reaction when it comes to surviving murder attempts, so when he recognizes that she’s entering a panic attack due to being triggered by it, he doesn’t hesitate to help her calm down from it.
    • The moment they share while Kokichi straightens her hair shows also has hints towards Prairie’s feelings for Kokichi, while the latter seems to see something else in Prairie entirely.
  • The two sticking together throughout the majority of the first murder investigation gives some hilarious and cute moments between the two. The fact that Kokichi had to make Prairie so pissed off that she wouldn’t stop punching his face the rest of the investigation might be a detriment to that fact (or fans of these two might actually love it instead).
    • Not to mention Prairie had been trying to deny her jealousy of one of his “big-boobed” underlings because she was his “favorite female friend”.
  • Rantaro also tries to dissuade Prairie’s antagonism towards Kokichi by reminding her the kind things he does for her. But Rantaro doesn't tease her as much as Kokichi about it and isn’t amused by Kokichi’s attempts to fluster Prairie.
    • Speaking of Rantaro, Kokichi didn’t hesitate to call him out for his overprotective behavior in Chapter 3.8 to the point where Prairie feels confused over his intentions. Doesn’t help that he tries to act like a mediator for the two of them (though it doesn’t last long because he ends up laughing at them instead)
    • He even got Prairie to pile in on the name-calling, though that doesn’t mean Prairie isn’t irritated by Kokichi because of his usual behavior.
  • The start of part 4 has Prairie admitting that Kokichi’s “charm points” include how his eyes were attractive and how he has a prince-like face to Monosuke, as if this doesn’t show how deep her crush on Kokichi is already. The fact that said boy overheard her admittance just makes the embarrassment worse for Prairie and the reader.
  • Chapter 4.3 might be the Amable-Interlude III in terms of deconfirming and somehow strengthening the ship. Kokichi somehow manages to go too far in terms of playing around with Prairie’s feelings, yet their encounter with Kirumi afterwards shows how much Kokichi actually cares for her (not to mention his immediate concern for her when he thought he saw Korekiyo threatening Prairie's life in the prior chapter) and they both work well as a team when it comes down to it.
    Tenko/Prairie
  • Tenko was the only girl Prairie remembered from before the Ultimate Awakening. The way Tenko’s misandry and Prairie’s embarrassment with guys mesh with each other is also very entertaining to read. It’s obvious that Prairie thinks of Tenko as a safe haven when it comes to getting a break from embarrassing herself.
  • Chapter 3.4 provides heavy amounts of interaction between the two, establishing a type of bond that Prairie doesn’t get with Rantaro or Kokichi (it helps that Tenko doesn’t cause Prairie as much headaches as the two closest guys to her).
  • Tenko eggs Rantaro on how he feels jealous over her bond with Prairie in the first trial. In context, that was the follow up to him disagreeing with Tenko’s suggestion to strip search Prairie for her knife in the corner of the room.
    Shuichi/Prairie
  • Their first one-on-one conversation basically has a cute moment, where Shuichi catches Prairie by her waist because she’s been hiding from the rest of the students and he’s the first person to find her.
  • Even if the intention behind the action is for mischief, Chapter 3.3 has Prairie hugging Shuichi after she rejected his apology (for calling her “moe”, which is kind of a moment in its own right). Also, it bears to mention that Shuichi was there during Prairie’s big tantrum moment alongside two of the closest people to Prairie (but it bears a mention that Prairie’s the most angry at Rantaro).
  • The two bounce off each other pretty well in regards to passing around deductions, even to the point of being called a power duo by Rantaro. One could even say that Prairie is the “Kyoko/Chiaki” role to Shuichi or vice versa.
    Other Pairings
  • Oumasai gets some small moments here and there throughout the fic, but a considerable one that even invited Prairie’s jealousy towards Shuichi has to be when Kokichi accidentally made a double entendre regarding his sexuality in Chapter 4.1:
Shuichi: I already know I won’t get a straight answer out of you.
Kokichi: Of course not! Nee-hee-hee~! Why would you assume anything straight would come out of me anyways?
    Shuichi: Wait, wha-
    Kokichi: What? What?
Prairie: [narration] ...Is he flirting with Shuichi...?!
  • Word of God states that ‘Kokichi is bisexual in terms of attraction”, meaning both Ouble and Oumasai (and any other ship involving Kokichi) shippers can get their cake and eat it too.
  • Tenko’s crush on Himiko seems to still be present in canon, even to the point of her admitting it in a roundabout way during the first trial when asked by Angie in Chapter 3.20.
