Tropes for the series:

  • Borrowed Biometric Bypass:
    • An Israeli agent attempts to frame a Palestinian agent for a hit by wearing the dead man's fingers.
    • In another episode, Vila got round a scanner by doing the lifting fingerprints trick.
  • Eagleland: The Beautiful, to the point of self-parody.
  • Enhance Button: The pilot showed Homeland Security examining a traffic camera footage, removing a man from the image, and revealing the briefcase the criminal was holding.
  • One-Word Title:
    • Pilot.
    • Flipping.
    • Mexico.
    • PPX.
    • Cambodia.
  • Secret Message Wink: An episode has the NSA coax a captured Soviet spy into revealing his contact, promising he'll be traded for Americans held captive in the Soviet Union. The man is given papers to sign agreeing to this, which he's told is basic boilerplate legalese. However, at the rendezvous as the clock strikes 11:00, the man removes his hat, which an alert agent recognizes as an "abort" signal. The Soviet agent knows his contact will not get the same deal, because she is an American citizen, guilty of high treason.
  • Shout-Out: The final episode aired on ABC was titled "Extremist Makeover", in reference to the reality show Extreme Makeover. The plot involves a group of terrorists undergoing the kind of extensive plastic surgery depicted on the show as part of a plot to infiltrate a target undetected, and the Homeland Security team's efforts to uncover their new faces before they could strike said target.
