Cloning Blues renamed to Clone Angst as per TRS, specifically about angst from a character discovering that they're a clone.

* CloningBlues: Josh, Tiger, and Wolf suffer different flavors of this when they face their alternate universe duplicates in the future.
** Josh [[spoiler:has been subject to the Pointed Circle's experiments that have killed him dozens of times over and driven the only other surviving Josh insane. He dubs himself J1, the Josh Who Lived.]]
** Wolf is recognized in the NAG as Torque, a man with a family and career. He awkwardly inserts himself into Torque's life while terrified he'll betray his true identity. [[spoiler:When his family and apprentice learn the truth they are quite accepting. He returns their affections easily.]]
** Tiger's alternate is Ty-Ann, adopted by Stu and spoiled rotten by his terrible parenting. Tiger is mortified by her childishness. [[spoiler:She's actually a leader of the alliance against Stu's dictatorship. Tiger eventually recognizes Ty-Ann as the best version of herself.]]

Critical Research Failure is a disambiguation page

* CriticalResearchFailure: Several in-universe examples as Tiger and Wolf claim to have "studied" the past but it's quickly apparent they've messed up a few details and so their attempts to "blend in" don't work.
** In their defense, the loss of scores of records due to the future war means many historians likewise have incorrect views on what the past was like.
** This is the entire crux of the plot: The pair sent the game into the past as a training tool, figuring that, as in their time, anyone who beat it had to be an expert warrior for real. Josh has to break it to them how ''no one'' who plays videogames is like their online personas.

* GenreDeconstruction: Despite its comedic nature, the show points out the very real problems or fallout that would occur in such a bizarre scenario.
** Tiger can operate complex items like the [=TTD=], but has no concept of what a movie is (the video game is repeatedly called a 'combat simulator' and treated as a serious training tool). In Tiger's world, fictional escapism is a luxury no one has the time or resources to dedicate to, although the mental strain this is placing on Resistance members is clearly showing.
** Wolf and Tiger admit at one point they realize even if they are successful, the world would be completely changed, and if they could return to their time, it wouldn’t be the world they left. People may not even recognize them.
