Travail is a two-episode, 15-level long single player addon for Quake made by distrans, Scragbait, negke, Preach, aguirRe and Asaki. It also includes some Deathmatch maps.

The addon comprises the Hub Level "Y Va Tan", two episodes: "Ingeniero de la Destrucción" containing the maps "Piedracero", "Aguenergia", "Costarodillo", "El Lugar Feo", "Roca de la Perra"; and "Arquitecto del Miedo", containing the maps "Tejido de Cicatriz", "Voces Extrañas", "Punto de la Infección", "Excisión", "Maneras Misteriosas" and "Secretos Más Profundos". The final episode is called "", and comprises the maps "Hacia La Fuente", "Torredalmas" y "Puentaltrono". And yeah, all the map titles are spelt in Spanish.

This addon shows examples of:

  • Beef Gate: The portal to the Nightmare difficulty is locked behind a beefy Shambler. Using all the Shotgun ammunition isn't enough, as you also have to hack it with your Axe.
  • Bilingual Bonus: All the map and episode titles are spelt in Spanish.
  • Harder Than Hard: In order to access the Nightmare difficulty, you need to enter to any difficulty portal. Once in the episode selection area, you must drop to the lower level, find buttons with hands in them (three in total) and press them all. This allows you access to the Power Core and Biolab. Once there, you must disable the forcefield protecting the Shambler caught on it, and kill it. This will open a path towards a new portal, with the message "Choose this and your protection is gone!" prior to entering the portal.
  • Hub Level: "Y Va Tan".
  • Idiosyncratic Difficulty Levels: Downplayed, the regular difficulty levels still contain the "Easy", "Medium" and "Hard" nomenclatures, however the screen will print, upon approaching the respective portal, "Protection level 3", "Protection level 2" and "Protection level 1". The portal to the Nightmare difficulty just proclaims that it'll remove your protection.
  • Kill Enemies to Open: In "Piedracero", you're required to clean a multi-level area before you can use a platform in order to reach the upper levels.
  • Portmanteau: Five of the levels are composite Spanish words:
    • "Piedracero" is comprised by the words "Piedra Cero", "Stone Zero".
    • "Aguenergía" is comprised by the words "Agua Energía", "Water Energy".
    • "Costarodillo" is comprised by the words "Costa Rodillo", "Roller Coast".
    • "Torredalmas" is basically "Torre de Almas", "Tower of Souls".
    • "Puentaltrono" is basically "Puente al Trono", "Bridge to the Throne".
