Moana 2 is a 2024 adventure fantasy animated film, the 63rd entry in the Disney Animated Canon, and the sequel to 2016’s Moana. David G. Derrick Jr., a storyboard artist on the first film, will write and direct the new installment. Replacing Lin-Manuel Miranda for songwriting duties are Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear (The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical) while Auli'i Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson will reprise their roles as Moana and Maui, respectively.Three years after her voyage to restore the Heart of Te Fiti, Moana Waialiki sets out on a new journey to find signs of humanity beyond the shores of her home, reuniting with the demigod Maui along the way. The film will release November 27, 2024.
