Final Battle-Induced Shirt Loss

Basic Trope: The protagonist loses his shirt during the final battle.
  • Straight: Bob gets his shirt destroyed by Emperor Evulz during their climactic showdown.
  • Exaggerated: Bob is wearing many layers of jackets and coats which are all destroyed by Evulz in a single blow at the start of the battle.
  • Downplayed:
    • Bob's shirt gets heavily torn in the final battle, but he keeps it on.
    • Bob loses his coat in the final battle, but his shirt remains intact.
  • Justified:
    • Evulz's attacks have fire properties, so Bob's shirt got burned off after getting a blow to his torso.
    • Evulz is equipped with The Nudifier to purposefully remove Bob's defenses provided by his clothing.
  • Inverted:
    • Emperor Evulz makes Bob, a Walking Shirtless Scene, wear a shirt during the final battle.
    • Bob gets his pants destroyed in the final battle.
    • Emperor Evulz gets his shirt destroyed in the final battle after taking a heavy blow from Bob.
  • Gender Inverted: Alice loses her shirt in the final battle against Emperor Evulz.
  • Subverted: Evulz deals a blow to Bob in a way that looks like his shirt will be shredded, but then the dust settles and we see Bob's shirt fully intact.
  • Double Subverted: The shirt gets destroyed by Evulz later in the fight, leaving Bob to spend the rest of the final battle shirtless.
  • Parodied: Bob freaks out and covers his chest after Evulz burns his shirt off, running away and calling him a pervert.
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob puts on a new shirt each time Evulz destroys them.
  • Averted: Bob doesn't lose his shirt in the final battle.
  • Enforced: Bob is played by a good looking actor and the creators want to show off his body at least once in the series.
  • Lampshaded: "Even though you burned my shirt away, you haven't destroyed my will to defeat you for good!"
  • Invoked: Bob lets Evulz destroy his shirt as it's his Power Limiter, thus surprising Evulz when he unleashes his true power.
  • Exploited: Evulz takes advantage of Bob's shirt loss to send lethal blows to his chest as his upper body is now completely vulnerable.
  • Defied: Bob wears an indestructible suit of armor on his torso to ensure that Evulz doesn't destroy his shirt.
  • Discussed: "The final battle is at hand. Don't get surprised if your shirt gets wrecked, Bob."
  • Conversed: "The protagonist losing his shirt in the final battle really makes things feel more dramatic, huh?"
  • Deconstructed: The blow that wrecked Bob's shirt also left him with horrifically painful and grisly wounds that negate any fanservice potential as well as making him vulnerable to getting killed by Evulz.
  • Played for Laughs: After losing his shirt, Bob goes all out on Emperor Evulz... because that was his favorite shirt and he spent a fortune on it.
  • Played for Drama: Bob's shirt was concealing nasty scars that Evulz inflicted on him in the past, and Evulz doesn't waste a moment to rub that fact in Bob's face after destroying his shirt.
