Auto Exchange
Auto Exchange is a magazine published from 1996 to 2009 as a Spin-Off of Exchange & Mart, a magazine which sold used automobiles.
It was Lighter and Softer (in design terms) and, like the magazine from which it was spun off, was there to sell used automobiles.
Although it ceased publication in January 2009, only two editions remain in print - one for Staffordshire, Cheshire & Shropshire and the other for South Wales.
From 2012 onwards, people started creating Fan Fiction of it (mostly hosted on sites like Issuu) in PDF form as a flipbook, serving as a Continuation of it. Compared to other franchises, this is largely obscure and mostly done by automobile enthusiasts.
Tropes applying to Auto Exchange:
- Honest John's Dealership: This pre-dated the social media era, and some car dealers would later be exposed as this by the local press.
- Sex Sells: Very much a Downplayed Trope here, but it was used a bit.
- The Alleged Car: You could find many in every edition.
