  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine: During the brief period of time in Season 4 where the day shift and the night shift crew of the precinct have their schedules interchanged, Jake after seeing Lohank being cheery is shocked and mutters, "Lohank is happy! Oh no, this must be the Upside Down."
  • The Expanse: The general design of the protomolecule-infected Eros Station is heavily reminiscent of the Upside-Down from Stranger Things.
  • Sesame Street managed to have a spoof of this show called Sharing Things, complete with "Cookiegorgon".

Video Games

  • In the satirical indie RPG BoxxyQuest: The Gathering Storm, The Sky Queen - a major character who doesn’t show up in person until near the end of the game - excuses her absence by saying that she was busy binging Stranger Things. She then starts gushing about it until one of the heroes steps in to shut her up.
  • In Exponential Idle, you get the "Stranger Things" achievement for gaining ee1000 dollars.

  • At the end of Who Killed Markiplier?, the District Attorney encounters Damien and Celine's souls in a realm that is specifically meant to be a homage to the Upside Down, to the point of even having the same name.

  • Bob's Burgers: In "Brunchsquatch", the Belcher kids find Felix hiding in the alley behind the restaurant. Gene asks why he doesn't hide somewhere cool, "like Europe, or the Upside-Down?"
  • The Simpsons: The first segment of "Treehouse of Terror XXX" is called "Danger Things" and has Milhouse dragged into the Over-Under and Lisa with psychic powers.
