Lucas has to find a "tale of familial lore" for his Love Potion, so he goes to talk to Sarah's parents.
- Abusive Parents: Sarah's Nan is incredibly abusive to her daughter, forcing her to marry a man she doesn't love and slapping her around when she tries to protest.
- Altar Diplomacy: Sarah's Mom is betrothed to Prince Boulder of the Royal Asteroid League, to solidify the Sarah's Mom's Family/Boulder Family Alliance.
- A Day in the Limelight: Twofold, for Sarah's parents and Lucas.
- Domestic Abuse: The Boulder has a terrible gambling addiction, meaning he and Sarah's Mom can't afford a dishwasher, and when she tries to stand up to him, he tries to slap her.
- Flashback Episode: Mostly. Subverted, however, as it was just a story Sarah's Dad was working on for a novel.
- Foreshadowing: The tale being false is foreshadowed at the beginning when Sarah's Dad mentions how he's been working on a novel.
- How Dad Met Mom: Wanting a tale of familial lore for his quest, Lucas asks Sarah's Dad to tell the story about how he and his wife met. Only to turn out it was all fake, and they really met un-eventfully at a casino.
- Meet Cute: The real story of how Sarah's parents met. Sarah's father was playing a poker machine at a casino, when Sarah's mom sat next to him and pulled the lever on the machine he was playing. Instead of getting angry, they decided to play the poker machine together.
- Musical Episode: This episode features several songs, mostly by Sarah's Dad.
- Out of Focus: Rachel doesn't appear, while Sarah only appears in a short scene at the end.
- Riches to Rags: Princess Sarah's Mom and Prince Boulder end up living in a dirty trailer park, mostly as a result of Prince Boulder's gambling addiction and low paying job.
- Unnamed Parent: Neither of Sarah's parents have their names stated in the flashback. Sarah's mom is always referred to as "Sarah's Mum", and Sarah's Dad is always "Sarah's Dad."
