Xena and Gabrielle try to convince a virgin sacrifice not to depend on following gods.
Tropes
- Ambiguously Gay: Genia ends up sneaking peaks at Xena and Gabrielle while the two are bathing.
- Covered in Gunge: One of Gabrielle's pranks involves dropping fish guts on Xena.
- Easy Evangelism: Genia fully embraces the path of Aphrodite fairly quickly once she's convinced she's a goddess, to the dismay of Xena and Gabrielle.
- Escalating War: Xena and Gabrielle go on a prank war between each other throughout the episode. It stops once one prank ends up helping the bad guys.
- Hat of Flight: The Helmet of Hermes grants the user the power of flight.
- Improvised Weapon: Xena first uses the bag holding the helmet to knock down the priests. Later on, she uses ladders to great effect against a flying Ferragus.
- Just Friends: After being affected by a love spell, Genia and Frankus agree to be this.
- Naytheist: Xena and Gabrielle try to turn Genia into one. After a lot of trial and error, they succeed.
- Replaced with Replica: In the end, Zarat holds Gabrielle at knife point and puts on the helmet. He takes a step off the ledge... and plummets to the ground below. It turns out that Gabrielle switched the real helmet with a replica made by Gabrielle during the chase.
- Riding into the Sunset: In this case, Xena flies Gabrielle off into the sunset, courtesy of the Helmet of Hermes.
- Satchel Switcheroo: Gabrielle switched her gift back with that of the helmet because she thought Xena was pulling a prank on her. This gifts Ferragus with the helmet.
- Spit Take: Xena's reaction to the above Satchel Switcheroo once she realizes what it means.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Xena disguises herself as a man in order to infiltrate the bandit's hideout.
