Episode 80: Field Trip

Short version
The Renegade visits Mars and intervenes in the civil war that has erupted due to the knowledge that their colour differences are a result of Guardian tampering; he tries to resolve it peacefully so that the exchange of magic knowledge can proceed, with limited success.
Longer version
Knowledge about the Guardians' tampering causes widespread social unrest on Mars, with many White Martians rising in violent revolt against color-based oppression. Grayven makes some effort at peacekeeping, in hopes of recruiting Martians for his magic study group, and meets Karmang, a surviving partially-modified Burning Martian who is more or less leading the revolt. However, once a peace summit is arranged, Karmang betrays the truce and kills almost all the delegates. The surviving Prelate J'emm takes steps toward settling the conflict, although it will be some time before there is true peace.
The title likely refers to Grayven bringing students from Lynne's school to visit Mars.
- Defiant to the End: Grayven incapacitates a Manhunter and demands to know who is in command, but the response is, "Die in... Fire!"
- Didn't Think This Through: When Grayven removed Miss Martian's fear of fire, he didn't consider how that knowledge would spread throughout a telepathic population, or how they would react.
- Fantastic Racism: The theme of this episode. For all their recorded history, Martians have considered naturally red individuals to be inherently better than greens, who are in turn better than whites. Many offices are open only to reds, and in many places whites are subject to violence and trapped in poverty. Then they suddenly find out that the color differences are merely artifacts of the Guardians tinkering with their DNA.
- Kill It with Fire: The Paragon-timeline Russian government has confirmed that Ra's al Ghul was entirely incinerated, to prevent anyone reviving him From a Single Cell.
- Let's Get Dangerous!: Miss Martian watches a group of Manhunters attacking a peaceful conference and realizes why the Renegade operates the way he does. She transforms into a Burning Martian to kill as many as needed in order to stop the attack.
- Nuclear Option: When Karmang backstabs the peace conference and kills almost all the attendees, Grayven furiously orders his Mother Box to send a bomb to Karmang's home base.Grayven: ONE OF THOSE REALLY EVIL ONES I COPIED FROM DESAAD!
