Fridge Horror: Did Andou use her mind controlling candy on Izayoi? Is that why she doesn't trust people who won't eat her candy? - Heroic Sacrifice: Kizakura breaks his NG Code (opening his left hand) to save Kyoko from Andou's trap.
- Moral Event Horizon: Ruruka trying to kill Kirigiri, killing Kizakura in the process, murdering Izayoi before that episode and drugging Juzo. You can take your pick.
- Pet the Dog: Juzo is visibly shaken upon learning of Kimura's death, even though he intended to kill everybody else and didn't even bat an eye to Izayoi's body, meaning that maybe someone actually liked her.
- Red Shirt: The former P.E. teacher Kizakura fights alongside in the intro.
- Rescued from the Scrappy Heap: Ruruka got so much hatred from this episode, Juzo started to become a more well liked character. Fans are actually cheering for him to open the door so he would kill her.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Juzo dropped his Undying Loyalty for Munakata the second he heard about the exit. The other interpretation is that this would be the quickest way to kill Ruruka by activating her NG Code.
- Shout-Out: Kizakura summed up Juzo's NG Code while doing the "OBJECTION!" pointer finger pose.
- The Stinger: Byakuya's team successfully enters the building, only to accidentally trigger a bomb, causing the building to start collapsing.
