Recap / Wakfu S1E24 "Reunion"

Go To

The Sadida Kingdom makes preparations for the incoming attack of Nox and his hordes of Grambos. While Eva, with a new bow, looks for Sadlygrove and Amalia worries about the incoming conflict, Yugo and Adamai returns to the kingdom to help their friends. However, an envoy of Nox creeps in to pave the way for his master...

Tropes:

  • And I Must Scream: Killweedos uses his magic to take over the Sadida guards by putting a thread in their dolls and turning them into giggling thralls that turn to dust when they die of exhaustion. Judging from the guard's reaction, it's horrible.
  • Big Damn Heroes: When Killweedos is about to ambush Eva on the tower, Sadlygrove makes his appearance and fights him back... he's then upped by Amalia who jumps in the fray to save Eva and crushes the zombie under her doll.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": King Sheran Sharm, after silently witnessing two simultaneous quarrel (Amalia and Armand discussing the tactics, Renate and Canard making a fuss about the warning posters they made) for a while, suddenly bellows a "Shut Up!" powerful enough to silence everyone and sends them all out, save for Amalia.
  • Catapult Nightmare: Adamai has one when the Tree of Life sends him a vision warning him of Nox's attack, the latter represented by a massive spider looming over the tree.
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Nox's army defeated, but his clock teleported within reach of the Tree of Life while Grougal's spirit has returned to the Dofus and the heroes, sans Ruel, prepare to face him.
  • Combat Pragmatist: Nox sends his hordes of minions to engage the Sadida/Cra/Maskeradier forces on the field as a distraction while his minion Killweedos prepares a portal to summon his clock away from the Sadida army and near the Tree of Life.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Renate was ordered to make a sketch of Nox' minions so that the guards and public would have a clue on how they look like... but colored them blue instead of black because he thought they looked more fashionable in blue. Canard angrily states that "being fashionable" doesn't matter when this is serious life-or-death information to be distributed for the people's safety. This actually leads to Yugo and Adamai being attacked by the Cra sentinels.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: The elder female Cra who's seen attending the war council is eventually identified as the Matriarch of the Cra people in Season 2.
  • Evil Counterpart: Killweedos is one to the Sadida people, being Nox' personal Sadida zombie.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: Sheran Sharm reveals in this episode to Amalia that it was Armand that convinced him to let Eva and her go on their adventure in the first place when they caught sight of them preparing to leave on the night of their journey, and that he was ecstatic to learn she helped win the Bontarian Gobbowl match.
  • Jump Scare: In-Universe, being unable to approach the Cra sentinels normally, Yugo uses a portal to move him and Adamai directly behind the captain, who's still intently watching the clouds where they disappeared to: after a few seconds, Yugo coughs to catch his attention, startling the man.
  • Mood Whiplash: One moment we have the Sadida patrol playing cards and having fun. Then Killweedos shows up and horrifically turns them all into mindless thralls.
  • Royals Who Actually Do Something: King Sheran Sharm, Prince Armand and presumably the Matriarch (essentially the Queen of the Cra) all fight on the battlefield against Nox's army of Grambos.
  • Stealth Hi/Bye: Killweedos has the power to phase across vegetation, a skill he uses to appear behind Evangelyne to ambush her through the forest.
