As Team Voltron returns from Oriande, Sendak has begun rallying Galra splinter factions against Lotor. When the Galra commander attacks a critical outpost, Voltron rushes to assist.Tropes featured in this episode:
- Chekhov's Skill: The lessons Dayak literally beats into Hunk provide him with just the information he needs to convince the crew of the shield station to stop fighting each other and do their jobs.
- Duel to the Death: Dayak declares that since Hunk didn't want to participate in her lessons, they must duel for him dishonoring her.
- Healing Hands: After Lance takes a blast that was arching towards Allura she shoots herself out of Blue to get to him after he doesn't respond. Inside Red, she finds Lance motionless and touches him with her hand, healing him.
- Insistent Terminology: Lotor calls Dayak his governess, while Lance believes she's his nanny.
- Mr. Exposition: Dayak explaining Galra history and culture to Hunk while teaching him.
- Mythology Gag: Allura's nanny in the 80's series is revamped as Lotor's Galra governess Dayak.
- Sadist Teacher: Dayak is positively strict when teaching Hunk about Galran history and culture. She takes pleasure in whipping him with her crop (no, not that kind).
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Hunk brutally chastises the Galra aboard the shield station for bickering at gunpoint over which faction to support while in the middle of critical repairs to their base.
- This Is Gonna Suck: Lotor's reaction when Dayak shows up at Central Command.
- What Could Possibly Go Wrong?: Hunk asks this after panicking over the situation at hand. Shiro's suddenly pulled the shield down and Pidge is trying to get him back to the control pad, Lance isn't responding, Allura jumped out of her lion to Lance and Hunk is left trying to move the last piece of the plate into position just as the flare is coming towards them.
- Who Dares?: Dayak says this when Lance asks who she was without "Blood Emperor Lotor's" authorization.
