Ragnar and King Jorik battle against Jarl Borg. As the latter is joined by Rollo, Ragnar is forced to fight his brother.

- Cringe Comedy: The dinners between Ragnar, Lagertha, and Aslaug are hysterically awkward.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice: In the battle, Rollo impales Arne on a spear and lifts him up, causing him to die a painful death.
- Manly Tears: Ragnar cries when he says his farewell to his daughter Gyda, and when Lagertha and Bjorn leave him after Aslaug's arrival.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Rollo regrets his betrayal and killing Arne, and believes that it would be better for everyone if he had been executed.

- Rousing Speech: After the battle, Ragnar convinces Jarl Borg to agree to a treaty by stating that they should explore the West together instead of fighting among themselves.

- During the battle, Rollo eventually states that he cannot fight Ragnar and surrenders.
- Ragnar bribes the lawmaker with a gold coin from England to make him pretend that the gods want to spare Rollo of a death sentence.
