But the monsters had already found their way inside.

Araceli Gomez is a nanny for a wealthy couple. When a pair of robbers break into the house and rocks what Araceli thinks is just another day at work, she must improvise to save herself and Gracie, the couple's autistic daughter.


Tropes featured in this episode:

  • Action Survivor: Although she is terrified, Araceli nevertheless manages to singlehandedly botch the teenagers' operation by herself, killing Watkins and incapacitating Ainsley.
  • Agony of the Feet: Araceli stabs Ainsley's foot with a knife.
  • Ambiguous Ending: It's unknown what Araceli intends to do with the ICE agents who arrive at her house at the end. Judging by how determined she was to foil the robbery before, she will not go down without a fight.
  • Bookends: When the robbers attack them, Araceli tells Gracie to hide. Near the end of the film, a group of ICE implied to have learned they're undocumented as a result of the publicity, come to the Gomez' house. Araceli tells her kids to hide.
  • Hollywood Autism: Gracie's autism means that she is prone to emotional outbursts. That said, she seems to genuinely like Araceli, and heeds her words most of the time.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Although, Araceli successfully saves Gracie from the two home intruders, by doing so she appeared and was mentioned by name on the news story about the incident making her identity public. The episode ends with ICE paying her and her family a little visit.
  • Shout-Out: The killers turn out to be teenage girls, with similar disguises as those in Tragedy Girls. It could double as a Take That! given how easily they're taken down, unlike in the film.
  • Stepford Suburbia: The news indicates that Watkins and Ainsley committed the break-in because they were bored by the monotonous and simple life of the suburbia, and wanted to inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
  • Teens Are Monsters: The news flash at the end reveals that the attackers were a pair of teenage girls.
  • Would Harm a Senior: Aside from one of the attackers, the only casualty of the break-in is Gracie's grandfather.
