FBI Agent Phillips: His parents are divorced and there's a history of custody violations. [...] These things usually clear themselves up in 24 hours.
The Jump Street team is called in to investigate the case of a school boy being abducted. Because the boy's parents recently got divorced and are at odds with each other, the initial suspects of this kidnapping are the parents themselves; however, it soon becomes clear that the actual kidnapper is the boy's grandfather. In order to catch this kidnapping grandfather and get the boy home, Hanson, amongst other things, has to cross-dress.
Meanwhile, Judy gets a visit from her mother—and to her shock, she finds out her parents got separated and her mother is having an affair.
This episode provides examples of:
- Curse Cut Short: In an O.O.C. Is Serious Business moment, the normally very composed Captain Fuller is about to say some choice words to an FBI officer who really irritates him, but doesn't get to it:
- Fuller: Why don't you take that walkie-talkie and sho—[Is cut off]
- Taking the Kids: An unusual one where it's actually a grandparent, as opposed to one of the parents, who takes away a child. Later discussed when the (divorced) parents of the abducted child accuse each other of having abducted the kid.
- Wholesome Crossdresser: Hanson has to dress as and appear as a woman in order to catch the abductor of the kid, and the other characters remark that he looks attractive when dressed as a woman.
- You Look Familiar: The grandfather who kidnaps his grandson is the same actor who played Hanson's beat cop partner in the pilot episode of the series.
