Tuca deals with her nightly insomnia and loneliness by exploring Bird Town after hours. Bertie handles an IBS attack and Speckle has a new pedometer watch.
This episode provides examples of:
- All for Nothing: Played for laughs. Bertie spends the entire episode trying to figure out how to stay awake to watch a show everybody is talking about, "Buried In Oil", only to realize the show sucks when she finally does manage to do so.
- The Bus Came Back: Aunt Talula is seen again after "Plumage", and her failing health during "SweetBeak".
- Grave-Marking Scene: It's revealed that part of Tuca's nightly routine is visiting her mother's grave.
- Shout-Out: "Vintage Sexy Campy Movie" is a very obvious parody of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
- Sleepwalking: Speckle becomes so obsessed with gaining steps on his new pedometer he does increasingly dramatic exercises while sleeping.
- Talking to the Dead: Tuca tells her deceased mother about her day when visiting her grave. It's implied that she does this often.
- Ungrateful Bastard: Aunt Talula proves herself as such as soon as she learns Tuca is planning to take her new role as beneficiary very seriously by firing her, just because Tuca refuses to keep bringing her alcohol like she wants.
