The Trollz' vacation days are winding down, but their tempers are winding up. They argue and cast spells and other pranks on each other, which doesn't go well with Zirconia and Spinell's planned Farewell Luau. This imbalance of friendship, when combined with the Magic of the Five, causes the island's volcano to awaken and erupt every time they argue. If nothing's done it will destroy the whole island, and while Spinell and Zirconia evacuate their house the girls head to the volcano to try and stop it.
When they reach the peak, the girls continue to fight, which causes the ground beneath Amethyst to collapse. She tells the others to run, but they refuse to leave her. Ruby casts a spell to make her hair super-long, saving Amethyst but making her hair burnt and frizzed. The rest of the beads they have are no good for calming a volcano alone, but by combining them, with some creative wordplay, the BFFL and Magic of the Five are enough to return Krakatrolla to dormancy. So Ruby doesn't feel left out, at the Friendship Luau they give her a tropical hairdo and make all of their hairstyles look like hers. The BFFL dance the night away, happy to have reaffirmed their friendship.
