Struggling with being unable to find an alt-mode that he thinks is right, Jawbreaker, with Hashtag's urging, attempts to interview others about it to get their perspective in the form of a documentary.
Tropes:
- Appearance Angst: Jawbreaker's main problem. Feeling like he doesn't fit in because he doesn't feel taking a vehicle alt-mode would fit him.
- Camera Abuse: Jawbreaker knocks the camera out of Hashtag's hands when he gets frustrated over her pressuring him to scan a vehicle for the climax of her movie. The camera is later destroyed accidentally when they are trying to stop a reactivated Arachnamech from stealing it, but the tape survives and Jawbreaker is able to turn the footage into a movie.
- Continuity Nod: Elita and Megatron are performing cleanup duty at the same naval yard where the battle against Mandroid's giant Mech took place in "Age of Evolution". The battleship that was flung on top of a warehouse is still visible in some shots.
- A Day in the Limelight: After the previous episode centered on Hashtag getting an alt-mode, it's Jawbreaker's time to shine.
- Documentary Episode: How some scenes of the episodes are framed, being presented from the perspective of a camera Hashtag is holding.
- Does This Remind You of Anything?: Jawbreaker's Appearance Angst over trying to find the perfect alt-mode for him comes across as Jawbreaker struggling with his identity, like someone struggling to understand their sexuality or someone with autism. This is shown such as during his talk with Elita when he explains he doesn't get excited when he sees vehicles and is worried there's "something wrong with him" or he might be "broken", with her encouraging him that he can scan anything he wants as his alt-mode, not just a vehicle, and Jawbreak's closing monologue in the end when he acknowledges he knows who he is even if he's different from everyone else.
- Innocently Insensitive:
- When Jawbreaker tries to interview Bumblebee and ask him about picking his alt-mode, he explains he wants to pick the perfect alt-mode and not make a mistake by picking the wrong one like Bumblebee did, referencing to how Bumblebee had a different alt-mode originally he had to change. Bumblebee promptly kicks him out of the barn and ends the interview.
- Hashtag gets so worked up trying to create her own movie that she begins acting insensitive to Jawbreaker and pressures him to pick an alt-mode for the "climax", not understanding this isn't what he wants.
- Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Hashtag attempts to film an action scene for the movie she's making, and because she believes the record button isn't on, she turns it off while filming Twitch and Thrash, only hitting record again after the scene is over. The action sequence was apparently very impressive, as the haystacks the two Terrans were stacking were shredded to bits, while Thrash managed to do a handstand while balancing Mo on his leg.Hashtag: Lightning in a bottle! Oh... uh... we may have missed some of that. Eh, well. We'll fix it in post.
- Tempting Fate: After explaining what a T-cog is to Jawbreaker while the camera records their conversation, Elita-1 wants to know who Jawbreaker is showing the movie to, since information on T-cogs is something the Autobots want to remain classified. Of course, as soon as the camera is knocked away by an angry Jawbreaker, a recently reactivated Arachnamech grabs it.
- The Reveal: Megatron explains to Jawbreaker how he obtained his Earth alt-mode.
