The girls are sent on a mission to investigate why some famous people have gone missing. They find out that the people have nothing in common, save for going to the same dentist.

Tropes:

  • Alas, Poor Villain: In a rare moment for Clover, seeing Mandy being cut off makes her pity her.
  • Artistic License – Medicine: Anesthetic only numbs the pain, it does not actually heal cavities.
  • Bound and Gagged: See the picture above, when Clover and Alex get captured by Dr. Jay.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Dr. Jay’s special laughing gas brainwashes his victims and gives them dental-based powers.
  • Broke Episode: In the b plot, the girls think Mandy is going through this when they notice her eating a bologna sandwich instead the cafeteria food, is wearing a shirt Sam donated to a charity drive, and is holding a yard sale. But it later turns out her mother cut off her credit due to her poor grades.
  • The Dentist Episode: Not only is this episode’s villain a dentist, but Sam and Clover spend most of the episode urging Alex to get over her phobia of dentists and visit one herself for her toothache.
  • Depraved Dentist: The episode’s Villain of the Week is Dr. Logan Jay, a former dentist of the stars seeking revenge after his career was ruined. How did he ruin his career? He gave a tooth-whitening formula that rotted the President of the United States' teeth.
  • Jeweler's Eye Loupe: Sam discovers that Mandy’s wearing the sweater she recently donated by using a piece of a microscope as one of these and spying her initials on the back.
  • Never My Fault: Dr. Logan lost his license because the US President applied too much of his teeth-whitening spray and lost all his teeth as a result. Said President then decided that rather than following the safety advice in the first place, he should blame the dentist who made it and ban him from his career.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: The girls immediately know that something’s up with Mandy when they catch her riding the bus to school, eating a baloney sandwich at lunch, and selling all her belongings at a garage sale.
  • Riches to Rags: It turns out that Mandy is acting so strangely because her mom took away her credit card due to her low grades, causing her to have to live like the rest of the common folk.
  • Shout-Out: One of the celebrities that Dr. Jay kidnaps is an actress that Clover recognizes from her movie, “Dude, Where’s My Date?
  • Skewed Priorities: Clover exhibits this a couple times...
    • Instead of searching for her friend that’s been kidnapped, Clover decides to spend time excitedly browsing Mandy’s garage sale. Luckily, Jerry pulls the girls back to WOOHP and back to the task at hand.
    • When they finally find where Sam is being kept, Clover is absolutely ecstatic that the location is in Paris; once again forgetting about her kidnapped bestie.
  • Spot the Imposter: Alex attempts to trick one of Dr. Jay’s cronies with her “Hologram-Projecting Mood Ring” by creating a duplicate of Sam, hoping it would make the former ice skater kidnap the decoy instead of her friend. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work.
  • The Tooth Hurts: Alex spends most of the episode suffering from a toothache that she’s afraid to go to a dentist for. In the end, it’s unintentionally cured by Dr. Jay’s anesthetic gas. This is especially lucky for her, because this encounter certainly didn’t do anything to cure her phobia of dentists.
  • Who Is Driving?: Clover wonders who’s flying the chopper when Dr. Jay comes casually walking out of the cockpit. It becomes clear that no one is, when the vehicle starts moving erratically and the girls have to hold on to the seats for dear life.
