Whenever Chef Hatchet is in a good mood, he orders pizza for the kids, but his recent breakup has put him in a slump. The kids take it upon themselves to fake a secret admirer for him.
  • Literal Metaphor: Chef's ex-girlfriend was a garbage woman. Therefore, when she dumped him, she literally dumped him.
  • Love Letter Lunacy: The kids write letters to Chef, posing as a secret admirer.
  • The Millstone: The secret admirer scheme works until Izzy goes rogue and writes a letter arranging a date between Chef and the admirer, not realizing that the date is an imaginary one.
  • Misplaced Retribution: After the move that Jude and Owen pulled on Chef, everyone is required to eat vegetables as punishment, though Owen and Jude had it worse than them since it was their idea in the first place.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Leshawna using Lafonda as her nom de plume references one of Lindsay's many misnamings of Leshawna.
    • Jude had cross dressed several times throughout 6teen.
  • New Job as the Plot Demands: MacArthur is now working as a pizza delivery driver, after a petting zoo keeper (episode 3) and a barista (episode 2).
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Leshawna's nom de plume is Lafonda.
  • Roses Are Red, Violets Are Blue...: Leshawna uses the most overused, widely-known love letter opening in the world and Owen thinks she came up with it.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Bridgette suggests that the kids could just find Chef a new girlfriend so he can be in a better mood for pizza instead of Jude's plan to give Chef an imaginary one. The response?
    Owen: That could take years!
  • Stock "Yuck!": The cabbage Chef is feeding the kids as a result of his sorrow over being dumped, which serves as the impetus for the kids to make a secret admirer so he will get them pizza.
  • Totem Pole Trench: Jude and Owen pose as Chef's "girlfriend" after Izzy sets up a play date for them.
