Recap / Time Stop Brave Ch 23 Seal and Stop

Go To

Leafa and Mirei land on the island and Leafa immediately complains that it is hot. She notices the ship that Sekai's party took and figures he is already there. Before she can disembark, Mirei warns her about the swimsuit law and Leafa reluctantly changes into a sling bikini and sandals that Mirei provides while using a belt to hold her sword. She is embarrassed and complains about why Mirei can stay in her dress and Mirei says she is a shaman and exempt from the rules. Mirei says they can buy bikini armor if she wants, but Leafa boasts that she needs no armor since she is untouchable in combat, so they go to meet the King.

Sekai decides to have Fury and Ranga enter the Voh'ley tournament and has them practice by facing him 2 on 1. However, Fury is completely unenthusiastic and doesn't even try to move, saying this is pointless. He says this is the only way he can think of to save OffshoreRope. He serves the ball to Ranga who hits it out of bounds. Fury says it doesn't matter how much practice they get because they are no match for the Gagankel sisters. Annoyed, he serves the ball to her and this time, she summons her golem to hit it back. Since they are at the beach, the golem is made of sand instead of stone. Fascinated, after catching the ball, Sekai freezes time and strips Fury before examining the golem. He approves of her tactic and decides he should check the rules to see if using magic is allowed. If it is, that might give them the edge they need.

After putting Fury's bikini back on, he walks into the palace and finds Miria. He strips and gropes her, then puts her clothes back on and unfreezes time. He asks her if there is a Voh'ley rule book. She leads him to the library and quickly finds the book. He notices a map of the island and asks what a certain image means. She says it is the Great Seal. He remembers there was one of those in Belltree and asks if it imprisons a monster too. She says no, but it maintains the barrier that keeps the Realm of Darkness out. It also holds a sacred treasure given by Isawera. However, nobody knows what the treasure is because it is inside a labyrinth. No one who entered it survived, and so no one has entered it for decades.

Sekai says to wait a moment and freezes time to instantly bring Fury, Niña, and Ranga to the library. They are briefly confused, then Ranga yells that she hates it when he does that. He says he learned something important and needs their council. Fury agrees, but then yells at him for stripping her again. After telling them about the Great Seal, Fury deduces that Nazar is using the Voh'ley tournament to give control of the island to the darklings, then they plan to destroy the Great Seal so the Realm of Darkness can cover the island. Of course, this is just speculation and Nazar could be innocent, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a fool to let the darklings in. Fury laments that her old village went out in a similar way. Her village's incompetent leader let all kinds of strangers in, which made it vulnerable to getting invaded and conquered. Miria is shocked and Fury says there is all kinds of evil in the world. Fury says Sekai is different however. Sure he's a pervert, but he has saved many people and deserves to be called the Salvation Brave. If only she met him earlier, her village could have been saved.

Sekai is touched by her faith in him, but Ranga says he's a wimp and Niña says sure he can help OffshoreRope sarcastically. Angered, he freezes time to strip Ranga and pinch her nipples, then does the same to Niña. After he puts their clothes back and unfreezes time, Fury notes that the Forces of Darkness probably fear Isawera the most. Niña gets it, it is because Isawera is the source of healing magic which harms them. Fury says if the darklings get control of the island and destroy the Great Seal, they'll probably enter the labyrinth to try to destroy the sacred treasure as well. Sekai says he'll fetch the sacred treasure in a few seconds. Miria asks how and he says it is possible for him. Since there is still a few days until the tournament, he figures he can read the rule book later.

Suddenly, Leafa and Mirei walk in. Sekai is happy to see Leafa again and says her swimsuit is spectacular. She tells him to shut up, but he freezes time to strip and ogle her, saying he can't bring himself to hate Nazar when his laws gave him sights like this. He puts her swimsuit back and unfreezes time, then asks who Mirei is. Mirei introduces herself and says she is Miria's twin sister. Surprised, he freezes time to strip and examine Miria and Mirei, confirming that other than their different skin and hair colors, they are physically identical.

He puts their clothes back, then moves everybody to the Great Seal, which is a huge monolith in the forest, then unfreezes time. They are briefly confused, then Ranga yells at him for doing it again. Leafa asks if he can teleport, then comments on how Fury and Niña are used to this. Mirei is amazed and Miria says Sekai can perform all kinds of miracles. He says he can't find the entrance to the labyrinth. Mirei says it is hidden. He asks where it is, but she says this place hasn't been explored in decades so how is she supposed to know? Besides, finding out is his job. Angered, he freezes time to strip Mirei and pinch her nipples, then puts her clothes back and unfreezes time. Fury uses a spell called Ground Scan, which unleashes a pulse similar to sonar. She finds the entrance is directly under the Great Seal.

Sekai asks how are they supposed to reach it, since even digging under the Great Seal could risk damaging it. Leafa mocks him for not being able to figure out a solution, so he freezes time to strip and pinch her nipples, then puts her clothes back and unfreezes time. Fury notices writing on the Great Seal, but most of it has worn away. She can only see "Whenas...ight...ares..." Miria remembers an old saying among the shamans, "Whenas daylight glares brightest, Isawera presents a trial." Sekai figures it means the entrance will appear at noon on the summer solstice. Mirei remembers an astrologer reported to Nazar that the summer solstice is today. Fury says judging by the shadows and the sun, it is almost noon. When noon rolls around, they are all amazed when torches on the monolith ignite and a hidden door leading to stairs opens in the Great Seal.

Sekai is about to enter when Nazar and a squad of his female guards show up. He says he will be the one to enter the labyrinth and orders them to step aside or else. Sekai freezes time, then summons Gankichi and the two enter the labyrinth. At the bottom of the stairs, he is shocked to find a maze of bridges and stairs over a pool of lava.

Note: The Japanese version of Volume 7 contains shikishi cards of Fury and Hime from Princess Resurrection in similar poses and smiling. It also has a repeat illustration of the scene where Sekai is gloating as he walks among the bathing women, including Niña and Fury, while time is frozen, from Volume 2, along with the header: "Call for places you wish to go while time is stopped" (Result: Women's bath). It also repeats the "Gankichi becomes a girl" omake from Volume 3.
