When the boiler at the Animal Park on Sodor breaks down on a cold, snowy day, Thomas decides to take the animals to the Steamworks where they will be warm. However, snowdrifts on the line make the journey impossible, so he takes them instead to Tidmouth Sheds - where the engines are forced to spend the night with elephants, giraffes and an ostrich!

- Glad I Thought of It: When Henry suggests that the animals stay at the Steamworks, Sir Topham Hatt doesn't listen to him, and when the latter comes up with the idea that the animals stay at the Steamworks, he takes all the credit for it.
- Honorary Uncle: James calls himself the uncle of a baby ostrich in the epilogue.
- I Am Not Weasel: James calls an ostrich an oversized chicken. Nia corrects him.
- Imagine Spot: Thomas has one where various zoo animals are trying to keep warm.
- Make a Wish: Probably unintentional, but when Percy wishes that the animals could sleep at Tidmouth Sheds, the Christmas star glows. And then the animals do end up sleeping at the sheds.

- Shout-Out: The episode title is a reference to the Biblical story of Noah's Ark.
- Time for Plan B: Thomas says this phrase when a snowdrift blocks the tunnel that would allow him to reach the Steamworks as originally ordered by Sir Topham Hatt.
