From Bad to Worse: Much of Alexandria’s food was ruined by the horde invasion, as well as their solar panels and infrastructure, as Jerry has to explain to Carol when she tries to cook some food.
Kick the Dog: By the end of the episode, Carol is so frustrated she starts snapping at Jerry when he tries to check in on her.
Pet the Dog: Despite her foul mood, Carol is still loving and affectionate to Dog. That said, when he begins acting like a handful, even she has her limits and scolds him.
Soup of Poverty: Carol struggles to put together ingredients for a soup in the aftermath of the Whisperer War that destroyed most of their food supplies just as the town was forced to accept the combined peoples of Hilltop and the Kingdom.
Stepford Smiler: Carol puts on her best happy face and laughs with Jerry while still being deeply unhappy.
Villainous Legacy: Despite being defeated, the opening narration by Carol clarifies that the reason the hunting grounds are empty is because the horde wiped out all viable prey in the area.
