Frame-Up: Zongi masterfully frames Hitomi, Van, and Allen as traitors to Austuria and the architects of a conspiracy to depose Chid and take over Freid.
Kill and Replace: Plaktu is killed by Zongi, who assumes his form.
He Knows Too Much: Very cleverly subverted and played straight with Zongi and Miguel. Initially, it seems Zongi's going to do this to prevent Miguel from divulging intel to 'Plaktu' under hypnosis. However, the infiltrator's plan actually hinges upon defying this Trope and using a hypnotized Miguel to feed misinformation to Chid. Zongi only has to resort to actually killing Miguel after the latter disobeys his orders and doesn't flee Godashim (as his 'jailbreak' would raise questions and jeopardize Zongi's mission and secret).
The Mole: A hypnotized Miguel is cleverly used by Zongi to feed misinformation to Chid.
Spanner in the Works: Miguel's death wasn't part of Zongi's plan. Zongi ends up having to kill him because Miguel foolishly stuck around Godashim rather than fleeing the city as he'd been ordered to.
