Tropes featured in this episode:

  • A Day In The Lime Light: As the title suggests, Kimberly is the central character of this episode as she and the Essex workers go on strike because they have not been given a pay raise, nor treated with respect, for decades. Bela, Leighton and Whitney spend most of the time in the background.
  • Armor-Piercing Question: Having found out about her sexual encounter with Dan to win the internship, Eric confronts Bela with this straight question:
Did you have sex with Dan O'Connell?
  • Big Damn Kiss: At the end of the episode, Whitney and Andrew.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Kimberly gave Senator Chase a quote that came from a person who owned slaves, unintentionally causing her to get attacked on social media for using it. If Kimberly had checked who the person was, this scandal would've been avoided. Still, she convinces the Senator to give her speech on behalf of the food workers.
  • Fanboy: Andrew is revealed to be a huge admirer of Senator Chase.
  • Gaslighting: Not only does Bela try to deny having sex with Dan to Eric, but also has the gall to gaslight him, saying that it could've been any girl when he confirms that he told everyone at work, including a friend of Eric's, who relayed the information to him.
  • Hypocrite: Kimberly reasonably advises to come clean to Eric about her cheating with Dan O'Connell, emphasizing on how important honesty no matter how hurtful it is. However, by the season finale, she lies to Whitney's face about kissing Canaan when asked about it.
  • The Immodest Orgasm: Kimberly's roommates are all turned off by her loud cries and graphic dirty talk while having sex with Jackson next door.
  • Meet the In-Laws: Bela meets Eric's dads for the first time, but at the wrong timing, as they're mad at her for hurting him after she cheated on him with Dan O'Connell.
  • Never My Fault: Bela downplays the severity of her cheating on Eric by trying to look innocent in front of her colleagues of The Foxy, but neither backs her up.
  • Put on a Bus: This is the last we see of Eric after breaking things off with Bela.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Eric gives one to Bela, not only for cheating on him with Dan, but also for her selfish behavior and spending too much time getting other people to like her and not valuing the people who actually like her that it's not enough, right before he deletes Bela's number in front of her and walking off.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Eric chides Bela for cheating on him with Dan O'Connell.
    • Bela gets also told off by his dads when she asks them to let her talk to him.
