PART 1:

Dipper and Mabel both wake up sick and exhausted from the night before, Mabel more sick than Dipper. Mabel trudges to the bathroom to puke as Dipper slowly gets dressed, rain pounding on the roof. Going downstairs, Mabel defends her choice to eat tons of candy before hurling again. Reaching the stairs, he goes into the kitchen, Stan informing him it's already past eleven in the morning. Dipper grumbles about playing candy checkers with Mabel, that part of the reason sounds of death are coming from upstairs.

Soos comes in, complementing Dipper on the idea to move the party to the graveyard. Dipper tries to pass it off to Stan as complications, but Soos tells him about Wendy showing up and people thinking they saw a ghost. Stan comments that he thought Wendy's party days were over, Dipper stuttering, unsure of what to tell them. Mabel comes to the rescue, saying Wendy had a miscommunication with her friends before slumping into a chair and collapsing her head onto the table.

Soos leaves to unclog a pipe or something as Yuki comes in, the Manor landline held to his shoulder. After confirming that the day will most likely be slow, he requests the day off. Stan shrugs and gives him permission, shocking Dipper as Yuki leave to continue the call. Stan opens the newspaper as Mabel walks over to the medicine cabinet. Yuki comes back, thanking Stan for giving him the day off as Mabel swallows the medicine.

Dipper asks Yuki who he was talking to, Yuki telling them that Pacifica called and asked if they could hang out at the mall later. Mabel squeals, her sickness forgotten by the distraction of romance. Yuki insists that it's not a date, but Mabel eventually makes him realize that it is a date, at a fancy restaurant to boot, causing him to clam up with nerves.

Dipper tells him not to worry about it before realizing that Wendy hasn't come in yet. Stan says he hasn't seen her as Arline comes in, also not having seen her or her bike. Arline asks if she and Stan can talk, Stan telling her to give a few minutes. Everyone tries to calm down an increasingly scared Dipper, who is concerned about Wendy's final words to him last night. Arline tells him to drive over to her house or something, Dipper leaving to find her as Mabel drags Yuki away to get him ready for his date, leaving Stan and Arline alone.

Mabel deposits Yuki on his bed before rushing back upstairs to get Dipper's nice shirts that he never wears. As Yuki gets dressed, Mabel quizzes him on how to behave on a date, to mixed results. Mabel tells him to just let Pacifica take the lead on everything and not worry about it too much. Yuki mentions that he is almost 90 years old, even though he looks the twins' age, and he is concerned if Pacifica is expecting a long-term thing to come out of the date.

Mabel tells him to just worry about the one date before worrying about the long-term and pulls out an earpiece. Yuki puts it is his ear as Mabel explains she'll be able to hear everything he and Pacifica say and can help him out if he needs it. Declaring him date-ready, she drags him back to the kitchen where Stan and Arline are looking at the paper. Mabel tells them she's going to take Soos for a half-hour, Stan about to deny, but giving permission after a look from Arline. He tells her to bring Soos back in one piece before she and Yuki take off outside.

Stepping out of his car near the cemetery, two police cars speed by. Dipper considers following them, but decides to focus on finding Wendy. Walking through leftover trash from the night before, Dipper is about to enter a mausoleum when Tallman Harker, the graveyard caretaker and Stan's funeral director, shows up.

Dipper asks him if he believes in ghosts, Tallman saying of course he does- the caretaker of a graveyard can't not believe in them. He says that he's learned the hobbies of several of the undead, Wendy included. Dipper grabs him and demands answers, Tallman saying he saw Wendy leaving earlier that morning. He says he doesn't believe Dipper about her being a wraith, saying they are just legends, but this encourages Dipper that he heard about wraiths, meaning there is a way to get information on them. Sirens still blaring in the distance, Dipper leaves the graveyard and enters the woods to look for Wendy.

As Soos drives them to the mall, he and Mabel try to get Yuki to relax so he can enjoy his date, but the Alien is still terrified. Yuki grumbles that he doesn't like all the different routes the date could take as they arrive at the mall. Soos drops them off, Mabel telling them they'll find their own way back, following Yuki into the mall as Soos leaves.

Yuki waits by the main door as Mabel goes off to hide, testing the earpieces from a distance. Pacifica shows up just after confirmation that the mics work, Yuki spinning around and staring at her terrified. Through her laughter at his appearance and behavior, Mabel walks Yuki through what to do, Yuki following directions robotically, not that Pacifica seems to notice.

Pacifica tells him that since her parents built the mall and have let her back in the mansion, she's able to take them to a fancy French place called Mon Petite. She takes his arm Yuki leaning away like he's afraid to touch her, almost blowing his Japanese exchange-student cover. Pacifica tells him she knows what's going on, saying that this is his first date and he's terrified. Admitting that this is true, Pacifica offers to take the lead until he's more comfortable, the two of them walking towards the restaurant.

Mabel tails them closely, the mics only having a fifty foot range. They enter the restaurant and head towards the back, Mabel unable to follow because of the waiters blocking the entrance and asking for reservations. Static building in her earpiece, she sneaks into a maintenance hallway and climbs into an air vent near the kitchens, trying to sneak closer.

In the restaurant, the fanciness is getting to Yuki, making him a million times as nervous as he would have been if it was less formal. He drains most of his water in one gulp as he tries to reestablish contact with Mabel. A crash for the other side of the restaurant distracts him, and he tells Pacifica he's going to go to the bathroom. Instead, he goes to a storage room where a soaking wet Mabel is trying to dry herself off. She explains that she fell through the vent and landed in a full sink, frying her earpiece. Yuki still has no clue how to act, and now it appears that he is on his own.

PART 2:

Dipper is running through the woods, his desperation to find Wendy stronger than ever. He leaps over a bush, crashing into a short figure, both of them hitting the ground. Stumbling to their feet, Dipper realizes he almost ran over Jeff the Gnome, not that he cares that much. Jeff complains about the twins being back in town before asking Dipper what he's doing so far into the woods.

Taking a shot, Dipper says he's looking for someone. Jeff tells him he would have better luck finding a person in town, Dipper admitting he's not exactly looking for a person. Jeff gets a weird look on his face, both of them realizing they are talking about Wendy. Dipper demands answers, but Jeff refuses until Dipper picks him up and threatens to drop-kick him if he doesn't tell him about his friend.

This gets a laugh out of Jeff, who agrees to tell Dipper about Wraiths if he gets put back on the ground. Dipper complies, telling Jeff that, to his understanding, wraiths are undead somewhere between a human and a ghost. Jeff elaborates that Wraiths are more like a broken Wight or a degree lower than a Lich, making Wendy a Type III, with one difference. The body doesn't rot, but the mind does.

Dipper's shock that Wights and Liches are also real turns into confusion about Jeff's meaning. Jeff explains that Wendy has kept both her mind and her body, but her body is dead and can't function like normal. She can't eat or drink or sleep even though she wants to, leaving her mind and body our of sync. Jeff says that when that happens, the mind starts to loose itself, and it's only a matter of time until Wendy's brain snaps and she's no longer sane.

Dipper denies this, saying that he will cure Wendy. Jeff tells him that there is no cure for the curse and if there ever was a way to counteract or undo the spell, that knowledge died out centuries ago. Dipper weakly says no, Jeff telling him that it is true, Dipper kicking out at him. Jeff runs away, telling Dipper it's only a matter of time until Wendy becomes a feral monster. Dipper leans against a tree for several minutes, trying to recover and deny what Jeff said. Failing in this and more depressed than ever, Dipper starts the long walk back to his car.

Back at the restaurant, Pacifica is getting suspicious. Yuki has been crazy nervous the entire time and keeps rushing to the bathroom, saying he's sick. Pacifica suspects one or both of the twins are involved as Yuki comes back, tripping over a rug. As Pacifica helps him up, Mabel dives under their table so she can overhear and help.

Pacifica asks Yuki what's up, knowing that he's not sick. She asks why he's so jumpy and nervous, Yuki saying that he's scared to mess up the date, thinking a lot rides on the outcome. Pacifica is confused, Yuki staring at his feet as Mabel tries to help. Her advice just confuses him, and Yuki asks Pacifica if they could go somewhere less fancy and more private. Pacifica agrees immediately, accidentally kicking Mabel under the table in her rush to stand up.

The couple leaves the restaurant, Mabel following behind. Mabel is forced to run down the sidewalk as she follows Pacifica's limo around town, heading towards the mansion. Passing Omir Steindorf and a hooded person walking together, Mabel is able to catch up to the limo as a line of police cars speeds by. Unfortunately, Yuki and Pacifica get out of the limo, so Mabel has to hide in a trash can as she watches them enter the woods through a path Pacifica and Dipper used to walk down.

Mabel follows them down the path, they two of them stopping by an apple tree. She hides in a nearby bush so she can hear their conversation and watch what they do. Yuki seems to have calmed down and relaxed, standing in the rain as Pacifica watches him enjoy it from under an umbrella. Pacifica calls him weird, but Yuki says there's nothing weird about enjoying peaceful nature. Pacifica says there's nothing peaceful about nature, especially not the Gravity Falls nature.

She says that her father told her about nature being bad, saying that squirrels or whatever would eat all the apples on the tree, leaving none left and killing the tree in that area. Yuki agrees with this but says that when a squirrel eats to much, a larger animal is able to use the squirrel for food, restoring balance. Pacifica mentions that people have no limiting factor to their greed.

Yuki admits that humans don't have a stronger power limiting them before commenting that humans are a young species. He says that a human once came up with something called the Tragedy of the Commons, which basically says that humans will use and overuse a resource until they run out of it. He says that he used to believe that the theory was true, but now that he's seen for himself, he realizes that there are more people willing to share than there are those who would hoard, and it's just a matter of making sure the greedy ones don't ruin everything.

Pacifica asks how she and other humans could do that, making Yuki realize just how close he came to revealing that he wasn't human. Pacifica changes the topic, asking Yuki to play truth or dare. Yuki, now nervous again, asks Pacifica why she asked him for the date. Pacifica says that she really likes Yuki, who barely pays attention as he fiddles with his hat. Pacifica dares him to take the hat off, saying that if he doesn't, he has to answer two truth questions.

Yuki goes for the second option, keeping his hat on for the time being. Pacifica first asks what he really thinks of her, Yuki saying she has unacknowledged talent and a lot of potential and that he enjoys the time they spend together. Pacifica gushes slightly before asking her next question- Who are you really? Yuki freezes up, confused, as Pacifica lowers the umbrella and steps into the rain.

She says that she tried looking him up, tried to find out where in Japan he came from, but the Japanese travel agency had never heard of any Uki-Dohth going anywhere. They also said that his apparent last name isn't Japanese at all, so Pacifica went to the town offices to look at the travel records. After the party last night she got an email with all the people who had come into town and were staying, and Yuki wasn't anywhere on the list- he just showed up one day.

Coming to a decision, Yuki removes his hat, revealing the leaves in his hair. He apologizes to Pacifica before explaining about the Xabvri and what happened three years ago. Pacifica admits that she knew he was different, mostly because he was friends with the twins, who's other friends are all either weirdos or monsters of some sort, herself fitting into the former, Yuki a bit of both.

The two laugh a bit as Mabel squeals internally at them. Yuki tells Pacifica about his species aging slower that humans, but Pacifica says she doesn't care, that she just wants to spend time with him. She says that she doesn't know how his species works, so if he's not comfortable or something to let her know. Yuki says he's comfortable around her, kissing her on the cheek. Pacifica grins and jumps at him, kissing him for real as Mabel relaxes, realizing that she wasn't really needed at all during the date. She realizes that she is okay with that and leaves to go back to the Manor, leaving the new couple as they kiss in the rain.

At the Manor, Dipper is sitting on the edge of the porch, depressed. Stan and Arline walk outside, Arline saying they can talk later before going back in to get Soos. Stan sits on the couch, trying to act like he doesn't care, even though him being there is proof enough that he does. He says he always kind of knew the day would come when Wendy didn't show up. Dipper says she should be there, but Stan says she has her own life to live, Dipper knowing that he is talking about Ford. Stan shrugs at this before mentioning Melissa, Wendy's mother, both of whom weren't made for small towns like Gravity Falls. He says that people change and sometimes its hard to know the difference between what they think they want and what they actually want.

Stan looks Dipper dead in the face, telling him that Stan has no power over Wendy aside from being her boss. Dipper on the other hand is Wendy's friend, and there's nothing stopping him from helping her. This lights the fire, Dipper sprinting away from the Manor and down the driveway, the wind rushing past him. This sparks a memory from the beginning of the summer, when he was going into town at night to track the Warlock, and something red flew past him high up in the trees.

He enters the woods, looking up for something red amongst the green of the forest. He eventually sees Wendy's bike and bag under a bush, mostly protected from the rain. He looks up and sees Wendy about 80 feet above the ground, staring at something in the distance. He tries calling to her, but she doesn't respond. He starts climbing a nearby tree, getting close enough for them to hear each other, even though Wendy refuses to look at him.

She tells him to leave her alone and let her leave, but Dipper says he won't do that. He says there is a way to find a cure or reverse the curse, even if he doesn't know it yet, but Wendy tells him she looked up what happens and it's not pretty, again telling him to leave. Dipper refuses, saying he won't give up, before running and jumping to the tree she is in. Wendy has to catch him to keep him from falling, alternating between yelling at him for his stupidity and asking why he did that. Dipper says he couldn't leave her, promising he will find a way to bring her back to life. He begs her to stay in town at the Manor with them, saying Stan's agreed to weirder things.

Wendy eventually agrees to stay, exciting Dipper to no end. Before they climb down, she shows him what she was looking at- her family's house, a good ways away but the view completely unblocked. They climb down Dipper promising to start the search immediately, and they head back to the Manor, running into Mabel on the way back, catching each other up on what happened to them during the day.

Stan meets them on the porch, agreeing to let Wendy stay, revealing that he knew about her all along. This shocks everyone present, but Stan says he's one half of the Original Mystery Duo, and noticing weird things, like Wendy not blinking for entire days, is kind of his forte. The twins ask him why he didn't invite Wendy to stay. Stan saying that if he did when Wendy wasn't ready for people to know, she would have run away, Wendy agreeing that that probably would have happened.

The four of them go inside, Arline waiting for them in the Gift Shop, Stan's good mood vanishing. He goes to stand next to Arline, calling a Manor Staff Meeting, Arline included. Mabel questions if Arline is going to be working at the Manor as Dipper realizes that something major is happening if Stan and Arline are working together to actively call people in to tell them something. Stan corrects him, saying something bad already happened, Arline telling them the news: Last night, the Warlock escaped.
