Despite her father's strict rule against dating, Penny ends up at an amusement park with an overweight boy named Carlos, expecting the worst.

- Bad Date:
- Subverted with Penny and Carlos. She thanks him for saving the twins, and he wins a prize for her. He also admitted he had a good time and wants to go out with her for real.
- Played straight with the other quartet. They reveal the boys encouraged them to go on a water ride, and then ditched them for other girls.
- Exact Words: When Oscar interrogates Penny about seeing her with a guy, Penny says she wasn't on a date with him and "ran into him at the park". This is actually the truth; since she was with her friends, it wasn't an actual date, something Carlos acknowledges.
- Let's Get Dangerous!: Carlos gains a Kubrick Stare as he climbs onto the runaway rollercoaster to rescue the twins. Despite being terrified of the speed and that he could fall as well, he manages to get them in his arms and off the ride safely.
- Loophole Abuse: Oscar said no "dating". He didn't say "no meeting someone at the park while in a group of friends".
- Miserable Massage: In the subplot, Oscar and Felix are given a painful (slapstick) massage session, courtesy of Dr. Payne, which includes squishing them into balls and bouncing them around.
- Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Penny eventually becomes smitten with Carlos when he rescues her baby brother and sister. She says that he reminds her of her dad and that he's also funny, nice, and smart.
- Take a Third Option: Carlos wants to go on a real date with Penny, and Oscar compromises that she can when she's sixteen. So instead, she and Carlos do homework together, with her dad's supervision. However he latter changes his mind and lets her go to his house instead because Carlos was eating too much of their food.
- Turn the Other Cheek: Carlos says he's not mad about LaCienaga insulting him because his parents told him to not get mad, get even. The twins end up delivering some karma to her, courtesy of the ice-cream cones they were eating.
