With school finals behind them, the group of friends have a sleepover.
- Call-Forward:
- Marcy's mother regretfully thinks about how her family may soon have to move for her husband's work, and worries how Marcy will react to it.
- The sleepover culminates with the scene depicted by flashback in "The Beginning of the End" of Sasha and Anne paying no attention to watching War of the the Warlocks with Marcy and falling asleep in the middle of it, except this time Luz is there and stays up to watch with her.
- Early-Bird Cameo: Literally — Owlbert shows up, keeping watch as the girls have their Scare-Dare challenge in the old house where the portal usually opens.
- Shout-Out:
- Luz and Marcy have a brief talk about the death of the creator of the Dragon Claw franchise.
- The game the girls were playing, Ring World, is clearly meant to be Halo.
- Marcy’s story is influenced by Frankenstein (1931) and The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Disney).
- Sasha's story draws heavily on Five Nights at Freddy's.
- Take That!: Sasha lampshades how Marcy's story is basically a jab at the modern environment of mixing religion and politics, which all the girls agree are two things that shouldn’t mix.
