Chapter 19: What's Anne Been Up To?

We're given a different look at some of Anne's adventures up until now.

Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:

  • Adaptational Explanation: Anne explains in "Girl Time" that the reason she pushed Polly into having girl time was because she's been missing her friends.
  • Continuity Nod: The dress Anne wears in "Hop Pop and Lock" turns out to be the same one she wore in "Dance of Romance".
  • A Day in the Limelight: Anne and the Plantars take the spotlight this time.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Sprig brings up the possibility that Sasha, Marcy and Luz encountered one of Amphibia's dangerous creatures and may be dead, worrying Anne. Polly glares at him for bringing it up.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite the changes, the events of "Best Fronds", "Taking Charge", "Girl Time", "Anne Vs. Wild" and "Hop Pop and Lock" occur as they did in canon.
  • Internal Reveal: The Plantars learn that Anne's friends may have been sent to Amphibia with her.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After thinking about Luz for the last few weeks, Anne begins to have this towards ending their friendship, especially after she worries that it could've been the last thing she said to her.
  • Out of Focus: Luz is absent for the first time in the story (but still appears on Anne's BFF's photo and is mentioned) and Amara and Uodeela don't appear since their debuts in "New World, No Friends". Lilly and Gustav also don't appear.
  • Saying Too Much: Lilly's father pushes it a bit close to the vest asking Anne if she's from another world. But when he asks if she knows about other humans possibly being in Amphibia, Anne pins him down and demands answers.
  • Vignette Episode: The second one in the series, containing 6 stories.
