Andy tells the staff that Sabre wants to send some of the staff to Tallahassee to work on a project to develop a chain of retail stores. Dwight is given the lead spot but clashes with Andy over who he can bring as the rest of the staff vie for spots on the trip. Meanwhile Jim is personally invited to Tallahassee by Robert California and tries to get out of it but to no avail.
Ultimately, besides Dwight and Jim, Andy gives the remaining spots to Stanley, Ryan, and Cathy, who is later seen talking to her friend about her plans to seduce Jim. Erin also asks permission to go along, saying it would be an opportunity to clear her head, but confesses in a talking head that she doesn’t plan on coming back, obviously still heartbroken over Andy.
