The gang meets Batman and Robin again when they help the pair rescue an inventor who's been targeted by Joker and Penguin.
This episode contains examples of:
- Book Dumb: Shaggy makes a couple of really dumb errors in this episode:
- First, he mistakes a deer for a horse and says he's never seen a horse with wood growing out of its head before.
- The Cameo: Fred Flintstone and Yogi Bear appear as giant parade balloons.
- Flight: Professor Flakey's invention is an inflatable rubber suit that lets the user fly. Scooby ends up using it in the final encounter with Joker and Penguin.
- "Scooby-Doo" Hoax: The plot involves Joker and Penguin disguised as a dryad and troll to throw people off their trail while they attempt to kidnap an inventor and obtain his invention for themselves.
- Spoonerism: Professor Flakey had this problem. For example, he mistakenly calls his invention a "sighing flute" and at one point refers to the episode's villains as "Poker and Jenguin".
- Unfinished, Untested, Used Anyway: Professor Flakey's flying suit was still in the experimental stage, but thanks to a series of events, Scooby ends up taking it on an unexpected field test.
