This episode provides the example of:

  • Knife-Throwing Act: Signor Baffi is a knife thrower who has trouble with his eyesight. Fozzie accepts Scooter's offer to be the assistant in his act, not realizing what Baffi's act is.
Fozzie: [running backstage] Kermit, help! Help, hide me! There's this madman throwing knives at me!
Kermit: Uh... uh, well... don't worry, Fozzie. It's all over now.
Fozzie: Oh, no! Here he comes! [dashes off]
Signor Baffi: [entering] Hey, where's-a that-a bear? He's-a make a swell target!
    Fozzie: No, I don't!
    Signor Baffi: What?
[He throws another knife, which hits the staircase. Fozzie runs away, screaming.]
  • Never Heard That One Before: When Gladys introduces herself to Pops, he jokes that he's also glad it's night, since it's too hot during the day, to which she responds that she allows that pun once a show. When Pops introduces her to the Muppet fixing the roof, he replies that he's also glad it's night, since it means he gets overtime pay. Gladys promptly shakes him off his ladder.
Gladys: [shrugs at the viewer] I said just one.
  • No Sense of Direction: Signor Baffi, because of his poor eyesight, has trouble finding his way to the stage.
[Fog is rolling into the now roofless theater.]
    Scooter: Oh, uh, Signor Baffi?
    Signor Baffi: Uh, what?
Scooter: Uh, you're on as soon as I introduce you. Say... uh, this fog isn't going to interfere with your knife throwing, is it?
Signor Baffi: Oh, no. I'm-a aim-a by the sound anyway. You just tell the target to keep-a yelling.
    Scooter: Yeah.
Signor Baffi: [walking in the wrong direction] This-a the stage?
Scooter: Uh, no, no. This way, Signor Baffi. [He takes Signor Baffi the right way.]
Signor Baffi: Oh, oh. Thank you.
  • Roofless Renovation: Exaggerated with the workers removing the entire theater roof so it can be repaired at the shop.
  • The Show Must Go On: The roof may be gone, and snow keeps going on, but that won't stop the show!

[Statler and Waldorf are in their winter clothes, shivering in the snow-covered box.]
Waldorf: We'll get pneumonia!
Statler: Big deal. This show always makes us sick!
