This episode has examples of

  • Big Eater: Annie Sue, being less conscious about her weight than Miss Piggy, orders a chocolate milkshake, a hamburger with french fries, and an apple pie with cream, which Gladys dubs the Kamikaze Special.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Muppet Labs' Elevator Shoes make Beaker shoot up into the ceiling in height, which surprises Bunsen... because he didn't know Beaker wore striped socks.
  • Dead Artists Are Better: According to Gonzo, people think he died after his last stunt went poorly, so his autographs are now valuable.
  • Extreme Omnivore: Animal has a TV dinner. As in, he's eating a television set.
  • Gravity Is a Harsh Mistress: Gonzo's act involves reciting the seven-times table while holding a grand piano over his head; partway through, he gets lost and stops to count on his fingers—and the moment he realises this means he's no longer holding the piano (but not a moment before), it falls on him.
  • On Second Thought: Gladys initially agrees to let Gonzo put his meal on his tab. Upon hearing about his upcoming stunt, she grabs him. "You'll pay me now!"
  • Piano Drop: Gonzo attempts to balance a piano over his head and stand in a hammock while reciting the seven times table. After Gonzo messes up by saying "Seven times two is seventeen", he counts on his fingers, letting go of the piano and causing it to fall on him.
Waldorf: Well, that act certainly suited Gonzo.
    Statler: It did?
Waldorf: Yep. Suited him right down to the ground!
    [Statler and Waldorf laugh]

Statler: You know, they can improve the whole show if they changed the ending.
Waldorf: How?
Statler: Put it closer to the beginning.
