This episode contains examples of:

  • Babysitting Episode: The episode is about Bunga being entrusted to take care of the kids by several moms. Surprisingly, he does well since he's able to train them in self-defense just in time for when the jackals attack them.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Another one for Bunga, although the young Pridelanders also get a lot of focus.
  • Death Glare: Fuli throws one at Ono when he makes fun of the fact that she can't climb.
  • Enfante Terrible: Dogo is noticeably more vicious than his previous appearance. His sister Kijana is this as well.
  • I Love the Smell of X in the Morning: The episode opens with Reirei saying, "I love the smell of zebras in the morning."
  • The Family That Slays Together: The jackals all work together when hunting.
  • Just a Kid: The children under Bunga's care manage to ward off the jackals, much to Reirei's disbelief.
  • Literal-Minded: After their attempt at hunting the zebra herd fails, Reirei tells her pack to head back home. Goigoi, however, initially stays put since Reirei only addressed their pups.
  • Rule of Funny: Why neither Fuli nor Ono wind up seriously injured despite falling from a good drop or crashing very fast into a wall.
  • Training the Peaceful Villagers: Bunga teaches the children a variety of exercises that, in the end, help to defeat the jackals.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: The Guard depends on Bunga for climbing.
  • Would Hurt a Child: The jackals hunt the young animals Bunga is babysitting at the end of the episode.
  • Wounded Gazelle Gambit: Reirei attempts to convince the Guard that she and her family were the true victims. Twice. And both times the Guard doesn't buy it.
