"Nigel Planter and the Chamber Pot of Secrets"

Original Air Date: July 16, 2004

Billy, Mandy, and Grim are playing golf when they encounter boy wizard Nigel Planter again. Nigel reveals that he is unable to stay at Toadblatt's School of Sorcery because he is being hunted by the feared Lord Moldybutt (with the mere mention of his name causing things to break). Nigel asks the trio to accompany him back to Toadblatt's and be his security. The gang arrive in Dean Toadblatt's office and find Toadblatt suspiciously acting kindly towards Nigel (as Toadblatt has previously made his contempt for Nigel known). Later that night, back at Weaselthorp House, Lord Moldybutt sneaks into Nigel's dormitory and warns him to stay away from the Chamber Pot of Secrets in Toadblatt's office. Lord Mouldy Butt attempts to throttle Nigel but is spotted by Mandy. He escapes, but leaves a strange powder behind.

As Mandy and Grim begin their investigation, Billy accompanies Nigel to school and stands guard outside Nigel's classroom, but Lord Moldybutt manages to sneak in and again warn Nigel to stay away from the Chamber Pot of Secrets. Nigel is summoned to Toadblatt's office, where Toadblatt informs him that he will have to leave the school as they can no longer protect him. As Toadblatt is saying goodbye, Lord Moldybutt appears from the Chamber Pot of Secrets, but Mandy reveals that it was a costume Dean Toadblatt had been using to terrify Nigel. Mandy reveals that the dust Lord Moldybutt left at Weaselthorp House was actually from a latex mask, and hair and fingerprints collected from Nigel's room matched that of Toadblatt.

Toadblatt confesses and admits he did it in order to get Nigel removed from the school. Nigel gains his revenge by shrinking Toadblatt to the size of a golfball, which Grim uses and ends up hitting Toadblatt towards a French restaurant. Just as Nigel claims he knew there was no real Lord Moldybutt (which causes Mandy's golf club to break), the camera pans down to the centre of the Earth where the real Lord Moldybutt vows to find Nigel.

"Circus of Fear"

Original Air Date: July 16, 2004

Billy and Mandy are bored — so bored that Billy's making holes in the wall with a hammer. To keep them from being bored (and from knocking more holes in the wall), Grim takes the them to the underworld to see a circus owned by Dr. Fear. At the show there are several acts, but the greatest of all is Clortho, the beastmaster. After the show, Clortho complains about how the circus isn't making enough money, and he blames it on not having good enough freaks (when it's really because of the overpriced tickets). When he sees Billy and Mandy, he realizes that if there were real humans in his circus (being in the underworld), more people would go to the circus.

He asks Grim to sell the children to him; Grim refuses and goes back to the human world along with Billy and Mandy. Clortho then reveals to the audience that he's really Dr. Fear. Later, Dr. Fear captures the kids and takes them to the underworld. At first, Grim is happy to be free of the kids, but then Billy's mother threatens Grim, forcing him to go save the kids. Grim successfully gets into the show, but decides to wait until the kids perform their act, saying that it's time they entertain him for once.

Mandy breaks free and defeats Clortho. With a whip, Mandy whacks off Clortho's mask, revealing him to be Dr. Fear, but Mandy whacks off two more masks, which are of Billy's mother and Eris, and finally reveals that Dr. Fear was an earthworm. Billy is confused and wonders how Mandy knew Dr. Fear was an earthworm. Mandy tells Billy that if he had paid any attention at all, then he would have known that Dr. Fear was an earthworm the whole time.

"Circus of Fear" contains examples of…

  • The Dog Was the Mastermind: Parodied at the end, where it's revealed that Dr. Fear was actually an earthworm in disguise. There's absolutely no build-up to this moment, but Grim and Mandy act as though it was somehow obvious, and treat Billy (and the viewers by extension) as a moron for admitting he didn't see it coming.
  • Mama Bear: After Billy and Mandy are kidnapped by Dr. Fear, Billy’s Mom comes home and finds a bored Grim in the living room. She demands to know where Billy is, and when Grim can’t give her a solid answer, she threatens him, which spurs him to go rescue the kids.
Gladys: (Grabs Grim and pulls him close to her face, wielding the hammer he was just holding) Listen, mister! If Billy isn’t back by dinner, there will be grim consequences!
