Shaun thinks the battle is not yet lost. In turn, Lea...

While trying to help a patient with a mysterious and undiagnosed illness, Shaun tries to find a way to convince Lea that a relationship between them could work.

  • Break His Heart to Save Him: Lea with Shaun at the end of the episode, to make him give up on the idea of them becoming a couple. Lea does this because she believes that his autism and her troubled personality would condemn a romantic relationship between them from the beginning.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Shaun tries to convince Lea that he can change his behavior and that dating would work. For this, Shaun asks Lea to show up at his apartment in the middle of the day, to show that he doesn't care about cans out of alphabetical order and the position of the toilet paper. Lea is not at all impressed and makes Shaun realize the paradox of the situation.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: Shaun decides to do everything to conquer Lea.
  • Hates Being Alone: Literally at the end of the episode, when Shaun returns home alone after finally being forced to admit that Lea will never be his girlfriend.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: Morgan is sarcastic and annoying with Shaun when she wants to be, but she has a point in trying to convince Shaun that it is wrong to insist on trying to win Lea's love even after she has made it clear that she doesn't want a relationship with her.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Downplayed with Shaun and Lea. Throughout the episode, Shaun tries to convince Lea to give him a chance, in a way that even makes him look like an obsessive stalker. Lea tries to be patient with him, but she finally loses it at the final scene, when Shaun says he can "save" the situation between them in the same way he saved a patient earlier. Lea says she doesn't need to be saved, and when Shaun still insists, she finally says in a harsh and cruel way that his autism cannot be fixed and that a romantic relationship between the two would never work. Even so, it is evident on Lea's face that she is hating herself for saying that.
