A Plot: When Beverly gets rid of Murray's favorite easy chair that he sits in everyday, by donating it to the Goodwill Store & Donation Center, he strikes back.
B Plot: Barry tries to rescue Adam on the school bus after he gets bullied by an eighth grader named J.C. Spink. However, the power goes to Barry's head, and he ends up becoming Adam's next school bus bully.
- Drunk with Power: Barry gains such an ego from dealing with a bully Adam's age that he starts pushing the other kids around as well.
- Enemy Mine: In order to deal with a Drunk with Power Barry, Adam works with Spink and the rest of the kids on the bus to overpower Barry and throw him out.
- For Your Own Good: As indicated by the episode's title, this is the motivation Beverly claims for the various changes she's made to Murray's life, including getting rid of his chair. However, Murray's retaliations (such as throwing out her hair products with the justification that they're bad for the environment) eventually get her to admit that she just thought the chair was garish.
- Real-Person Cameo: The real J.C. Spink appears as Joe the Bus Driver.
