Season 3, Episode 11:
Fallen World
Mass deceleration causes casualties for all ships inside the ring. Holden gets taken away by Bobbie and her squadron. Naomi goes back to the Rocinante.
Tropes:
- Almost Dead Guy: Anna finds Tilly bleeding out in a hallway after she was impaled by Clarissa. Tilly lives just long enough to reveal the identity of her murderer before dying.
- Big Damn Heroes/Conveniently Timed Attack from Behind: Anna catches up with the Rocinante just in time to stop Clarissa from killing Naomi.
- Centrifugal Gravity: The Behemoth has the ability to generate artificial gravity by spinning its drum, allowing its wounded to be healed properly as well as the wounded on board the other ships in the Ring.
- Enemy Mine: Ashford and Drummer end up trapped together between the farming drone and have to work together and bond to escape.
- Heroic BSoD: Holden is catatonic for hours after the vision, and his heart stops at one point.
- Heroic Sacrifice: Drummer for Ashford, by running the farming drone into herself and impaling herself even more to free Ashford from being trapped by it. She actually survives, but clearly didn't think she was going to.
- Impaled with Extreme Prejudice:
- Tilly, as well as other unnamed passengers on the Thomas Prince.
- Drummer, although in her case it's (narrowly) non-fatal.
- Internal Reveal: Anna learns from a dying Tilly that Melba is actually Clarissa Mao and wants to kill Holden.
- Killed Off for Real: Tilly Fagan, who, while scuffling with Melba, was Impaled with Extreme Prejudice by ship rebar when the Thomas Prince decelerated. She survives long enough for Anna to find her, and to tell her who Melba really is, before succumbing.
- Locked in a Freezer: The deceleration traps Drummer and Ashford with a farming drone between them. They spend most of the episode trying to find a way to get out; Drummer finally deliberately pilots the drone towards herself, severely injuring herself but giving Ashford enough space to escape.
- No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: As Tilly herself lampshades, her efforts to reach out to and help Clarissa Mao just got her killed for her trouble. Though it's possible she would have been fatally injured by the Thomas Prince's deceleration anyway.
- Spanner in the Works: When Melba wakes up and sees Tilly impaled by rebar, she clearly thinks Tilly is already dead or will be soon enough, and just leaves her there. However, Tilly is still alive, and ends up calling Anna to her location and telling her that Clarissa is Melba before she dies. As a result, Anna pursues Clarissa to the Rocinante and knocks her out with a taser to save Naomi.
