Early-Installment Weirdness: In addition to the series still being filmed in Covington, Ga., the Balladeer still takes time to introduce Bo, Luke and other main characters as though this were the debut episode. Also, in the opening scene, the General Lee has a manual transmission (as Bo is seen shifting the gear selector); future episodes it was implied the car had automatic transmission.
First Appearance: Lulu Coltrane Hogg, Boss' wife. Here, she was a bit more spoiled than in future appearances and a bit more supportive of her husband's crooked ways; later on, she'd have zero tolerance for his ways. Also, while she thought Bo and Luke were "nice" boys, it wasn't until at least Season 3 that their friendship was confirmed.
Humiliation Conga: Joey and his fellows counterfeiters avoid arrest but their cars get destroyed by the Dukes, they lose their counterfeiting plates and Rosco runs them out of town.
MacGuffin: The counterfeiting plates inside the car the Duke Boys are trying to repossess, which they never even know about.
Outlaw Couple: Joey and his girlfriend, although they also have two additional accomplices.
Scary Black Man: The counterfeiting gangs enforcer is a well-armed black man.
