Art Initiates Life: Pedro's gift is being able to literally paint things into existence.
Character Development: The chapter sees Peep go from being overly scared of everything to realizing that some of her fears might be irrational. When she doesn't get her gift, she ends up becoming heir to the Candle-Holder position.
The Chosen One: When Peep doesn't get her gift, Mirabel sees the candle glowing brighter and realizes that this is because Peep is an ideal candidate to be the next Candle-Holder.
Generation Xerox: Like her mother before her, Peep winds up not getting a gift or her own room, her breakdown out of a fear of being "useless" bringing to mind Hiccup's own troubled adolescents. Since they both can relate to her plight, they are more well-prepared to help her live without one.
The Reveal: It turns out that the triplet's birthday is also the anniversary of when Hiccup first arrived at the Encanto.
