Big "WHAT?!": Snotlout's reaction to learning that Stoick now has a way to find Hiccup.
Blatant Lies: Astrid and Fishlegs tell a few of these when convincing Stoick and Gobber that the Nadder can be used to find Hiccup. Stoick is so grateful to have a lead on finding Hiccup that he buys it, but Gobber is understandably skeptical.
Entertainingly Wrong: While Stoick isn't wrong that his negligence was a contributing factor towards Hiccup leaving, he ends up coming to the conclusion that Hiccup's attachment to Toothless is just teenage rebellion. He then proceeds to reason that once he apologizes, they can both bond over killing Toothless and everything will be right with the world.
For weeks he'd asked himself why Hiccup would join those monsters, and now he knew the answer. If he wasn't such an abysmal father, and supported him when he needed it, the boy wouldn't feel the need to lash out like this. It was a classic teenager move. A bit drastic, but adolescents weren't known for their rational choices. He would find his son, and apologize profusely. Apologize for every time he'd ignored the boy's mistreatment. Made him feel unloved. He'd promise he'd be a better father, from there on out. And then he'd ground him. Just for a few weeks. Out of parental necessity.
Noodle Implements: After a few weeks at sea, the teenagers start to lose it. Stoick doesn't know how some of their arguments started, only that one involved guarding gold...that they don't have.
The Only One I Trust: Astrid admits to Fishlegs that she didn't tell him about her dragon because she didn't know if she could trust him. She admits that she does now.
Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Despite the fact that he still hates dragons, Stoick agrees to use the Nadder (without killing her) to find Hiccup.
Wham Episode: Stoick, Gobber, Astrid, Snotlout, Fishlegs and the Twins all leaving to find Hiccup, now with a method of finding him through the Nadder. By the end, they find themselves thrust into the same unusual weather that proceeded Hiccup and Toothless's arrival at the Encanto.
