As Raiga rants about everything weird that has been going on so far, the evil Godzilla Junior stares at her in confusion. The Raiga he knows is meek, submissive and does whatever she is told. Raiga asks what is going on with Lea and why Junior slaughtered all the Deer, begging him to tell her they were evil.
Suspicious, Junior unleashes a Nuclear Pulse and stomps through the floor. He asks her when and where did they first meet. She answers eight years ago in The Philippines. He asks her who his brother is. Since the Junior she knows refuses to acknowledge Xenilla as his brother, she answers that he doesn't have one. As he pauses, she notices something is wrong. The Junior she knows treats his fellow Kaiju as his dear friends and relaxes around them when not in a fight, but this one is swaggering like he owns the world, puffing up his chest and looking down on her. Finally, he asks her who his mother is, and she instantly answers Azusa Gojo.
Wrong answer. Junior goes berserk. He roars that he and Raiga first met in Sydney, Australia, his brother is Xenilla, a misguided fool but still his brother, his real mother was a nobody who abandoned his egg to die, and his Azusa Gojo was a bitch and he took personal pleasure in vaporizing her and the Golden Gate Bridge. She is obviously a Changeling infiltrator. He doesn't know how she's keeping up her disguise even with Cadenza's wards in place and how she's triggered his homing sense, but Chrysalis must be slipping to send in such an incompetent infiltrator who couldn't get her facts right. He tells her to die.
He fires his Atomic Breath. She dives to the side, but it grazes and burns her side. He fires another one, and she counters with her own, leading to a beam struggle. She struggles and taps into her reserves of energy, but he suddenly transitions his beam into the more powerful Red Spiral Ray. It effortlessly overpowers her beam and she is forced to dive out of the way. It blows through the wall and continues.
In the laboratory, Battra Lea and Cadenza continue to mock the crying and pleading Starlight Glimmer. Then they start arranging Aerenth crystals and arcane symbols on the floor. Starlight notices one of the symbols is her own Cutie Mark and figures her abduction was planned from the beginning. Cadenza forms a scalpel from the crystal and absorbs the magic from the severed horns and antlers into it. She approaches Starlight with it, but the Red Spiral Ray suddenly hits the lab, causing a huge explosion and knocking Lea and Cadenza over. It also breaks the table Starlight was strapped to. Fire starts to spread. Disoriented and partially deaf from the explosion, Starlight gathers her strength and teleports away.
Raiga and Junior continue to clash, destroying King Aspen's skeleton in the process. Junior is too angry to notice that Raiga is displaying her standard powers and is clearly not a Changeling. He pins her down and she starts punching him, but he bites down on her arm and starts savagely shaking it, which is extremely painful. He starts charging up his Atomic Breath while still biting her, intending to blow her arm off, but she punches him with her free arm, breaking free and pointing his head at the ceiling just as he fires. She moves out of the way as the ceiling falls on him, causing him to fall through the floor. Aware that won't keep him down for long, she retreats.
Outside, she runs into Starlight, who is terrified to see her. Raiga picks her up with her uninjured arm and levitates away as fast as she can, hurriedly telling Starlight she's not with them. As they leave the barrier Cadenza put around the Deer Kingdom, Starlight decides to trust her, then tells her to hang on before teleporting away as far as she can. They land in a river.
Without the Deer's nature magic to protect the trees, the Deer Kingdom quickly goes down in flames. Junior frees himself from the rubble and goes after Raiga, extremely furious. Lea and Cadenza salvage a few books from the lab and Cadenza reluctantly informs him that Starlight escaped. He asks if they absolutely need her to complete the experiment. Lea answers that with her power it would have sped things up exponentially, especially since her ability to improve talents can help make the change permanent; but no, they don't need her. Junior says fine, they'll move to their second base where Rodan, Anguirus, and their other prisoner is. He takes the crystal scalpel and a crystal Cadenza created that is charged with Lea's energy; and declares that while they do that, he's going to tie up a few loose ends.
Starlight Glimmer and Raiga meanwhile are holding onto a floating log heading downstream. Starlight's horn is hurting from teleporting such a wide distance, a feat she only pulled off due to her emotional distress, and her ears are ringing from the explosion; but otherwise she's alright. Raiga is assuring her that she's safe with her, but winces and recoils from the wounds Godzilla inflicted on her. Finding out Raiga can heal quicker if given a lot of electricity, Starlight assures her they can bring her to a power plant operated by Lightning Dust to juice her back up. Remembering Battra Lea's word, Raiga asks about Xenilla; to which Starlight confirms Xenilla is considered a hero for helping save Canterlot from Godzilla. In fact she was going to meet him in Manehattan as well since he's collaborating with Duchess Chrysalis. Raiga, flabbergasted, just gives up trying to understand and groans that Starlight's world is all kinds of messed up.
Fortune briefly gives them a pass, as Starlight Glimmer recognizes a bridge they flow under as one close to the city. Just when Manehattan comes into view however, a massive Pillar of Light erupts on the horizon behind some mountains. Sensing who it is as well as just how much energy is being displayed, Raiga flies into a panic. She rolls off the log and grabs it, swimming downstream as fast as she can to approach the city whilst declaring they got trouble.
They arrive in the city just as an alarm sounds and Godzilla Junior, back in his Kaiju form, appears on the horizon. The citizens start evacuating. As he approaches the city, Raiga asks how in the world he returned to his true form, so Starlight explains how the Kaiju can temporarily change back if charged up with magic from an outside source. They rush to find Duchess Chrysalis so she can turn Raiga back to her true form and counterattack.
Junior blasts apart a few buildings with his Atomic Breath. Starlight starts to panic; the evacuation is too slow, and by the time they find Chrysalis, hundreds of ponies are going to die. Raiga says they have no choice, Starlight will have to charge her up. Starlight balks at this, because her special talent is enhancing the talents of others. She's not powerful on her own, not like Chrysalis or Trixie. Raiga points out she's selling herself short, she was able to teach her how to fly and teleport a freaking long distance, which proves she has power. There is no more room for doubt; if she doesn't do this right now, they are going to die.
Junior spots them and approaches. Starlight steels herself and asks if she can beat him. Raiga decides not to lie. Godzilla Junior is more powerful than her, but she can at least slow him down. Starlight hugs her and wishes her luck, then charges her with magic. Raiga returns to her true form and punches Junior
