I fight for the humans!

A few days before Xenilla's forces attacked Solgell Island, the sea dragon Dagahra attacked Okinawa. Okinawa's guardian King Caesar shows up and fights him, doing his best to keep the humans out of harm's way.

In a starry void, a mysterious female figure who resembles a Unicorn observes the battle, noting that Caesar is not as powerful as other Kaiju, but his compassion may be just what she needs.

King Caesar knows he's one of the few Kaiju who actually cares about humans, but he considers it a strength instead of a weakness as it gives him something worth fighting for. He manages to drag Dagahra out of the city and into the ocean. Dagahra fires an energy blast, but Caesar absorbs it and fires it back, forcing the sea dragon to retreat. Now that the threat is over, Caesar returns to his cave to rest until he is needed again.

Help me, King Caesar. You're my only hope.

Pleased, the figure prepares a summoning spell.

Caesar rests in his cave when he hears the figure calling to him, then he abruptly finds himself in her realm, and shrunken down so he is roughly the same size as her. She is surrounded by a heavenly glow that prevents him from seeing more than just her outline, but as her outline resembles the sacred beast known as the Kirin, he bows and asks how he can be of service. She explains that the world she watches over is in great danger, but she is unable to interfere directly. She believes he can tip the scales for the forces of good. When he accepts, she smiles and remarks that he hasn't changed after centuries of fighting, ever since he was a loyal royal guard who volunteered to become a Kaiju to protect the people. Shocked, he asks how she knows that, but she teleports him away instead of answering.

You're awake!

Caesar wakes up in a forest with a Unicorn mare bending over him. She introduces herself as Clover the Clever, meaning Caesar is now over a thousand years in Equestria's past. He is in the body of a Diamond Dog, but one that matches his original color scheme. Clover mentions she is heading for the royal palace to attend a meeting of Equestria's three leaders: Princess Platinum, Commander Hurricane, and Chancellor Puddinghead. He asks if he can accompany her to the palace, believing he can find answers there. When he introduces himself, she is surprised until he clarifies that he isn't royalty; the people called him "King" out of respect for his strength. She says he may travel with her as there are many dangers afoot. As soon as she says this, the demonic centaur known as Lord Tirek emerges from the bushes. Caesar immediately senses that he is pure evil and attacks.
